How do I connect to Ford Sync?

To use any of the phone features for SYNC such as making a call, receiving a text message, or using SYNC Services, you must first connect, or "pair" your Bluetooth-enabled phone. Pairing is what allows Bluetooth devices to communicate securely with each other.
Please note that SYNC can make and receive calls using only one paired phone at a time.

Before you start

There are a few things you should do before starting step 1:

SYNC prompts, "Search for SYNC on your device and enter the PIN provided by SYNC." Press OK.

Type the number displayed by SYNC on your phone key pad.
Upon successful pairing, a message displays confirming the phone is connected.

Can't find sync on my lumina 520 phone?

First of all, turn your car on, and have it in park...
Push the Phone icon on the steering wheel. In a moment your center console (or display) will show Phone Menu, then Phone Redial... use the seek arrows on the steering wheel to move through the Phone Menu. When you find "Add a Phone" or "System Settings" then push OK on the steering wheel (or on the console). Scroll to Add Bluetooth Device, push OK. You will hear the Voice say "Push OK to begin pairing a device." Push OK, the console displays a 6-digit PIN.
Now go to your phone, to the settings, be sure Bluetooth is turned on, and then Search for Bluetooth Devices. In a moment the IP address may show but wait until it displays "Sync." Tap this tab and a second screen appears, and it prompts you to enter the 6-digit PIN form the dashboard, then push OK on the phone. In a moment the SYnc system will acknowledge the connection and ask additional questions. Push OK to conform and OK again to "Activate 911 Response," "Make Primary Phone" and "Download Phonebook." Watch you phone, it may have a screen (or two) pop up that what you to confirm to "Always Connect" to Sync (check the Yes) and then OK on the phone. When all is finished downloading (may take a couple of minutes), it will display Download Complete. Then push and hold the Phone icon on the steering wheel for a a few seconds and release. The Sync system should be up and active. Push the Voice button (the icon with the mouth & sound) and it will sound a tone and state "Sync, state your command." Then say "Phone" and the system will come back and say "Phone, state your command." Then either say "Call + (contact first and last name)," If it understands it will say "Calling (Contact Name) and begin dialing. Or say, "Dial," and the system will ask for you to say the phone number. It will repeat the number, if OK, then push the Voice button and say "Dial."

I have a Samsung U-485 that I can not get synced to my Ford 5-door Focus. It worked perfectly until a week ago.

When you push the Phone icon on the steering wheel (with the car running and in park) after a few seconds the center console screen will first display Phone Menu and the Phone Redial... Then use the seek arrows on the steering wheel to scroll through the menu... When you see Bluetooth Devices, push the OK on the steering wheel. Use the seek arrows again the find Connect BT. Push OK.you will see the name of your phone, or the model number (use the seek arrows), when you find your device, push the OK button. Scroll to Return, and Push the OK to go back on the menu. When done press and hold the Phone icon for about five seconds the end the process. Be sure your phone settings have it's Bluetooth on, check to see that your phone "sees" Sync...
Now push the Voice button (the mouth/sound icon) on the steering wheel, after the tone, say Phone and Sync should have your phone active...

My nokia 5800 screen is broken and i want to copy my contacts to pc or another phone

Hi,
You can copy the contacts to the PC easily....But to other phones it tough since you don't have the display.
Contacts to PC:
You should first have Nokia PC-suite for it.
If you don't have, download the PC-suite from here
http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/pc-suites/compatibility-and-download

Now connect the Phone with nokia PC-suite using the USB cable.
Since you don't have the display.Press OK (because internally the phone asks for the PC-suite connection)You need to say ok for it.
You can see two options in Nokia PC-suite.
1)Content copier:
2)Nokia PC sync:

using thes two methods you can copy the contacts now:
Content copier: Click on it and follow the screen step by step and save the contacts in PC
Nokia PC sync: Sync the contacts with outlook.Follow the screen accordingly and save the contacts in excel sheet.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

How do I bluetooth pair my i9 phone with my Ford SYNC

On your Ford Sync board, press the phone button. It will start to search for already paired devices. If none is found, press the arrow buttons until you find 'Add Bluetooth Device'. Then, press OK. You'll see it will generante a PIN. Now, make your phone's bluetooth application look for new devices. After a while, the Ford Sync device will appear on the phone screen. Select it, and make the the bluetooth application proceed. When a PIN (or pairing code, or passkey) is requested, enter the PIN generated by the Ford Sync device.
Hope it works for you.
Regards, Carlos
