Sounds like that can be made by the cooling fan of the processor or the spindle of hard drive, if either are not fixed quickly, then computer may go to NO BOOT, i recommend calling a technician right away

SOURCE: acer aspire 5580 , power button is broken, how to start

i would assume somebody has to open the Laptop and replace the powerbutton. If you want to pay to have somebody do it for you there is a third party Acer Repair Service. However, if you want to do it yourself, the part is available on ebay. Here's an Acer Repair guide. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you.

High pitch noise from speakers

Hello there!
Sometimes High pitching its just that, static on the area, like if you are near a microwave, or near other electronic equipments, but, if the skreetching sound keep going or even if you do nothing it could be a line inside the sound card, or you need to clean the volume botton with special electrical cleaner. other that these, its contacts, or bad cap for the volume board inside.
Good Luck!

Some keys not working, makes a high pitch noise when switched on

The high pitch sound may be the power supply adapter, unplug let it run on battery, if sound goes away change the power supply, the laptop keyboard will need to be replaced, go to www.ebay.com Type make and model of laptop, refine search to keyboard and power supply if needed.

My Acer Aspire 5100 laptop makes a loud high pitched consistent noise when I try to turn it on. then the noise stops, then a black screen comes up with writing, but when i hit resume, the computer restarts...

The problem might be the power supply charger that plugs into the laptop, unplug the charger and run the laptop on battery power, is the high pitch sound there when you power up? if this solves the problem, it is the power supply charger that is the cause.

Hi, Meens here In my Acer Aspire 5920 Vista home preimum getting weird sound frm inbuild microphone after swtich on n the sounds stops after plugging headfons :(

The usual cause of microphone noise is caused by audio settings where the microphone gain may be turned up to high causing it to pick up noise from the computer or built in speakes. This can cause noise ranging from an odd hum to a high pitched squeal.

Check your sound setting first
