Model TM-52. Why does it drop below freezing even at highest temperature setting?

Mine did this as well. last night the diplay read "LE" and the temp controls and the C/F buttons were unresponsive. I called Danby. Although I was on hold for 30 minutes, when they did answer they were very helpful. As mentioned elsewhere here, the touchpad has gone bad. You can order it right over the phone. The price of the touchpad is only $2 and shipping is $7. I ordered 2 of the touchpads (why not, right?) and the shipping was still $7 for the both. # for Danby is1-800-263-2629.
