The phone recognizes the availabe Wi-Fi networks but when attempting to connect it says ''connecting'' for a few seconds then reverts to ''available''. Also, if I am able to get connected via Wi-Fi, do I still use the browser icon to connect to the internet? In addition, I see references to entering valid web addresses or else the browser would say ''lost connection'' or something like that but where do I enter this valid address?
Thank you very much
A wifi connection reverting to available could mean a wrong password enter or a wrong encryption type.
If the available wifi networks are being use as hotspot, then you probably needs to register in order to use the wifi network.
If it's a private network, check if the network is at band 5 or 2.4. Just some tips for you to check out.

Hi,
I had the same problem as yours. Here's how I solved it. First you'll need to download the blackberry software from sasktel website. Just google it and you'll find it. Once you've downloaded it here's what to do:
1. Download the latest firmware to your PC
2. Install the firmware onto your PC that is running BlackBerry Desktop Manager
3. Go to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader and delete the vendor.xml file. If you are using Desktop Manager 4.7 or higher you must also disconnect your PC from the internet.
4. Connect your device and open Desktop Manager
5. When prompted select "Upgrade Now" (If you are not prompted select Applications Loader > Update)
6. Follow the prompts and your device will be upgraded.
This solved my problem and my browser is running perfectly well on wifi.
