That is really interesting that your faucet is only leaking the cold water. It might be a good idea to give a plumber a call since they could probably fix the problem. They do deal with this type of stuff all the time. http://tonkaplumbing.com/services-tonka-heating-plumbing.html

sounds like a bad faucet//only if you had good pressure before it was installed..to cheaply test..take the hot water off from the shutoff valve and spray it into a milk jug to see if theres good flow..then replace the faucet assmbly..dont forget to turn off the shutoff valve first..or you will get a watery surprise!

Water is leaking around base of "spout" and

If you have properly replaced the diverter assembly, there is either a problem with valve or debris was left in the valve from old diverter when new diverter was installed. Disassemble diverter by pulling spout back off. remove new diverter and check valve. Cup your hand over faucet and turn cold water handle on to attempt to flush any debris left behind. Try several times then reassemble. If this doesn't do the trick then replace. Get a quality filtering system and take care of your new faucet by making sure it's dry and polished after use. You won't be replacing your fixtures as often from calcium and corrosion.

My kitchen tap keeps dripping all the time how do i stop it

The washers and seals on either the hot or cold side of the faucet need to be replaced. Until they can be replaced and the dripping is keeping you up at night or you don't want to waste water. Turn off the shutoff valves to the faucet under the sink. Just remember to turn them back on when you need to use them.

Hi hi--
You'll need to rebuild or replace your hot water control stop--that's the valve on the faucet body. If it's a single handle control, you'll need to replace the control cartridge. If the faucet has two knobs, you'll need to locate whatever stem pieces are needed within the hot valve. Sometimes, on two knob faucets, you can get away with simply replacing the rubber pieces inside the control stem. If that is the case, your local hardware store should have manufacturer-specific rebuilding kits available. Be sure to locate the faucet's model name first! That should be written somewhere on the above-sink portion of the faucet body itself, and you should be able to see it without taking anything apart.

The hot water knob on my kitchen sink leaks

You will need to find out the make and model of your faucet, if necessary take some pictures, go to a hardware store. If your faucet is a major brand the hardware store will have or be able to order a parts kit for you. it should be pretty cheap, and come with directions

You shouldn't need any special tools, just screwdrivers pliers etc...

Good luck, have fun, and don't forget to turn off the water under the sink before you start. ;)

How do I remove delta 470 kitchen faucet? It won't swivel

If the 470 is typical, there should be two large nylon nuts on the bottom of the faucet tubes that hold the faucet to the sink. First, turn the water off, then open the faucet to drain any pressure. Next, disconnect the feed lines (hot and cold) that connect to the faucet from under the sink (be prepared for some water back flow, so paper towels would be a good idea). After the feed lines are disconnected, you should be able to reach up (usually behind the back of the sink basin) and access the two large nylon nuts (one on the cold and one on the hot). These nuts typically have raised portions so that you can get a grip on them. If you are lucky, you will be able to turn them (lefty loosey, righty tighty) by hand. If not you may have to work for some time with various pliers or other tools getting them to turn. Once you have them off, the faucet will simply lift up from the sink. Installation of another faucet should simply be the reverse procedure.
Good luck.

How to install supply lines for Grohe k4 faucet

I hope this helps.
Step11Turn off the water supply. You'll find a shut-off valve under your kitchen sinkmag-glass_10x10.gif. Once the water is turned off, open up the kitchen faucets to allow the water remaining in the pipes to drain way. Step2Catch the drips by placing a bucket under the hot water supply line, located on the left side of your sink. Even a minimum of water can cause a mess and be potentially damaging. Step3Use a wrench to remove the compression nut that secures the hot water supply line. Let the disconnected section fall into the bucket. Use the wrench to loosen and remove the nut at the other end of the line and remove it as well. Step4Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for the cold water supply line. Step5Replace the cold water supply line. Hand-tighten the nuts on both ends, then use the wrench to tighten the nuts completely. Repeat the process with the hot water supply line. Step6Turn on the water supply and test for leaks

Leaking Kitchen Tap

I am assuming that your kitchen tap is leaking through the spout

if it is single lever you will need to remove the crown and spout by removing a small erasure size cap on the housing right under the spout or up near the back of the ever then use a hex wrench to remove the set screw( plug the drain holes do it does not go down the drain)

turn the water off (hot and cold ) under the sink
remove the set screw and lift off the lever

at his point you can take an adjustible wrench(channel lock and tighten the big ring nut that holds the cartridge in place

temorairly put the handle back on and put the handle in the off position turn the water on under the sink and see if it stopped leaking

if it still leaks you have to turn the water back off and remove the lock nut then the cartridge and go to big box store with old cartridge and name of mfg and get a new one and install

If you have seperate hot and cold valves on top of sink deermne which is leaking by turning one off with oher on undr the sink

once you have determined which it is (hot or cold)
take a phillips head screw driver( remove plastic clear cap on top of faucet handle with sharp crewdriver of knife blade) and remove the screw holdin the handle on to the stem(turn counter clock wise

be sure to turn water of under snk on both faucet risers after removing acrylic handle you then take an adjustible wrench and remove the crown nut turn counter clockwise until it comes off over stem

remove stem( looks like size of a pretzel about six inches long with washers on side and one on end

take the stem to local hardware(ace) or big box store and go to lumbing section ask clerk to inspect and recommend replacement washers or replacement stem (if needed)

go back reinstall and tighten crown nut snug( open (turn counter clockwise) tem valve before you snug it down with crown nut
install acrykic or chrome handle with brass phillips screw then ut cap on and turn on water and check for leaks

good luck

I aasume this is single handle

You will need to remove the handle(usually hex screw under lever or bak side covered with small erasure size button

turn water (hot and cold) off under sink

remove the handle

take an adjustible wrench and remove the cartridge it is keyed
so ou can put it back roperly inspect the cartridge for any obstructions

go under sink and slowly turn hot water on and observe if water is coming out of faucet manifold

if water is coming out ok you may have a bad cartridge or had a blockage reinstall cartridge(after youturned water off

turn hot and cold water on under sink and try again
