To make your desktop icons smaller or larger on Windows 7, do this:

Yes, go into your computer's display settings and change the monitor over to 1024 by 768 for example. For windows XP go into control panel then display. Go to the Settings tab and slide bar over to a higher resolution. You will get smaller icons.

If you are using Vista/Windows 7 Right click anywhere on your display and you should get an option under view to change the size of your icons or you could change the display ratio/screen resolution which will automatically adjust icon size the higher the display setting the smaller the icon.
