What is the best chainsaw for a female to use, need easy start, no electrical?

Best way i can help is to fix it for u. But if u want to try here goes. Pull off air cleaner housing, Fuel line runs from left of carb to under carb, remove. install new line. Looks easy, sounds easy, very tight fit.

Howdy, As youhave invited an opinion, here is mine: I live on a small rural island in the Northwest and don't know anyone who doesn't own a Stihl..period. I have an older neighbor who cuts all his own wood and will until he dies. He just got the big stihl electric chainsaw and has a generator on his quad. It cuts all day, quietly, no smell and no buzzed nerves at the end of the day, so that's another way to go. Gas or electric, Stihl has the fewest letdowns.

A dull chain can cause this so can installing it backwards. Find a local chainsaw seller/mechanic about 5 - 10$ to sharpen. Ask for their help to relinstall it. Stihl is the best dealer in my area.
I have many chains when one dulls easy to swap in sharp one, no emergency to sharpen the dull one. HTH

The plugs you speak of are called RCA plugs, (Male side has an outside ring with "slots" around the edge, and a pin in the center. Female side has a short round "riser" with a hole in it). You need just standard Audio/Video hookup cables, available at any electronics store.. Walmart/Target/Kmart has them in the TV section. They get plugged into the Audio (Red & White) OUT of the VCR, into the Audio IN (Red & White) of the Easy Capture. The Yellow lead is for Video In/Out between the VCR and Easy Capture. The black is probably the S-Video connector, (round, has very small square hole, surronded by 4, 5, or 7 tiny pin holes) that can be also used to connect video/audio between VCR(if so equipped) and Easy Capture. Get a set of audio/video dubbing cables (abt $10 usually), connect Red to Red, White to White, Yellow to Yellow. Plug the Easy Capture USB cable into your computer (most likely), start the capture program. Start your vcr, hit Play. You should see your vcr tape playing on the computer screen.

There is a guard on top of the saw. It's on a hinge. It's purpose is to protect you in case the saw bucks up. It does this by locking the chain.

Pull the guard away from the chain and toward the handle. It will unlock.

Remember: even though it's electric, it still needs oil.

Ok to get correct tension on chain, basically loosen it a little until the chain on the underside of the bar is hanging a little... Now start tightening it up again. Basically you want the chain (the main part of each link) to be just touching the the underside of the bar. This will give correct tension... Note that chain does expand as it heats up so it may loose tension... so this is perhaps best done when the saw and chain has warmed a little. Also, new chain will stretch a little naturally so check tension each tme you use the saw.

If you do not know hoe to sharpen a chain properly, it is best to get someone else to sharpen it, or buy a new chain... Eventually all chains will need to be replaced because they can only be sharpened so many times before the cutting teeth become too small to work effectively or safely.

As for oil, if it is an electric chain saw, you only need chain/bar oil. Any good name branded bar/chain oil designed for chainsaws will work well.

Gasoline-powered chainsaws use a two-cycle engine (requiring mixing of oil and gas). Mobility and power are the main advantages of gas. Disadvantages include the bother and smell of mixing oil and gas, pull cord starting and the additional overall maintenance needed. Electric saws are great for smaller yard chores. They're quieter than their gas-powered cousins, lightweight, easy to start and require less maintenance. However, they have less power than gasoline-powered saws. They also add the bother of dragging a cord around behind you.
