Hey Guys or Gals

The Whirlpool Duet Washer and why it Leak's. 1) Make sure the Boot(which is the black thing that hook's to your tub and your door) And the ring around it, is tight. Now this Ring,is a Metal Band that keeps the boot on the tub Tight .You can tighten it or loosen it..ifs its loose, then it will leak...Then, there's a Ring around the door as well, Both of these rings are hard to see..so make sure, your really looking good. Now what most people don't thing about is the Main Inlet Tube.On page 18 in the manual.on picture 3.5 it show this source of water that comes into the tub.,this Main Inlet Tube that connect to the Dispenser Assembly, will come loose and will Drip or at times Leak bad,To be able to understand where this is located. First 1) take of the top cover of the washer, 2) take off the front part that hold the door on.That means when you look at your Manual look to pages 31,32,33 and this will tell you how to take off the front of the washer,It's not that hard, to take off, just take your time..and have an extra pair of hands helping you, so it easier and faster. But once you get the front of the waster off,and yes that counts the Electronic display header,That's that button you push to run the washer,,it will pop off after you take a couple of screws out ,after you take the top of the was off..you see them. but back to the MAIN TUBE INLET, this will loosen and water will leak from this now when you replace the boot on this the tube will come loose when trying to put your ring around the boot, you cant tell that its loose becaue you cant see if after installing the boot,i know this dont make any since, but im sure it will if your start to tear it apart..and taking these steps to fix the leak. just make sure that you track the leak,to make sure that this is it...just make sure you take the steps to repair it ..if that means order a new piece then do it. But These Step Will Save you Lots of Time & Money if your Going to play someone to fix it...Here's the Link to the Manual,Just download it and go to the pages i put down ..Might have to copy and paste the address

You could possibly have a door gasket leak, due to a tear in the gasket. But your statement is not quite clear.

Water is pouring out of the bottom part of the washer door.

If your Whirlpool FRONT LOADER is leaking, the following link can give you guidance on how to inspect the washer to determine where the source of the leak may be coming from:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576656-washer_leak__front_loader

Most commonly, the source of the leak comes from the door bellow (gray rubber seal). They do wear out with age and can develop small rips and tears. A routine inspection of the perimeter of the door seal can determine if you have any holes. If the seal is damaged, it must be replaced. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574186-installing_a_door_bellow_on_a_front_load

The manufacturer recommends that you leave the washer door open between washes to prevent the seal from becoming permanently stretched. Once the seal stays compressed constantly it can stretch and not seal properly. In addition, leaving the door open helpd let the wash tub air out and prevent mold, mildew and musty odors.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following web sites:

Water pours out from washer underneath

The most common leak for those washers is from the drain pump a really easy and inexpensive repair. It is located underneath toward the front. To diagnose turn on water to tub fill 1/4 the way, pull out machine about 2 feet, tilt backward, you can use a mirror, I just poke my head under. is should be clearly evident where the leak is. The tools to change the pump it requires a screwdriver and pliers. There are two clips and to hose clamps, remove and replace in reverse order.

Water leaking from my whirlpool frontload washer

open the door and check between the drum and door frame. There is a large rubber bladder completely surrounding the drum. Pushing the drum further back into the machine will let you see the entire thing and unfold it. These often get small laundry like socks stuck there as well as sharp objects like nails. You may have a tear in it which will leak like that. Replacement parts run about $70.00.

La Trisha, There could be many reasons for the leak, however usually all leaks are visable. Your model is a direct drive pump and motor and I have seen a lot of these pumps go bad and leak. You will have to remove the front panel. There should be 2 clips, one on each side of the washer top. Push a putty knife in these clips and the front panel should pop out from the top. Now you will be looking right at the pump on the bottom. It is held on with 2 clips and 2 clamps, a real easy fix. When you remove the front panel, let the washer fill a little again and see if the water is pouring from the pump. You will also be able to get a look at all the other hose attachments. The part number for the pump is 3363394. Good luck..
