I have no schematic and have only solder iron and multimeter. Was hoping that someone had a schematic of this chassis # 27780-01 that had repaired exact problem? Does not a bad capacitor sound like a logical fix as I have fixed foldover on quite a few sets with capacitor replacement. The problem goes away within 1-2 minutes and doesnt appear till next time TV is turned on? Outside of that it works perfect. Rocco

There is not a good solution. If you read about the Polaroid 37" LCD HDTV, you have a problem and it's the same one that many of us have. According to Polaroid's service center, the control box needs to be replaced. Polaroid does not stand by this product. The company gives you a lot of lip service about how many they sell and how few problems they have - they're lying. The TV's should be recalled and I'd suggest you join many of us to demand it. Write BBB, write the company where you bought the TV, write any consumer group you can think of - Polaroid TV's are junk. Sorry you've got one. Sounded like a good deal and Polaroid used to manufacture quality - no more.

I have the same problem with mine, I can also do the ol Fonzy hit it on the side and the sound will come back on. I have re-soldered many bad looking solder joints and I have finally tracked it down to a part # LSK1aF-5v it is located on the board that the main power plugs into at the very back behind a large transformer. The part can be found at parts.o2xygen.com/parts/l/46.html .

If the coil wire is snaped then you will need to replace all the coil. usually the power from the outlet goes stright to the coil and connects to both ends of it's windings

Howdy,
Yes, it is very easy to repair. Solder iron wattage should be at least 300 w.
The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove the shield that covers the Boards and remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
