My whirlpool keeps stopping with fh coming up with red light saying water tap closed what does that mean

if you lift the top of your unit you will find the paper work for repairs in there and also has the code sheet.

That's a water filling problem.

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

The 'FH' fault is listed as "Water Inlet Fault" in the manual. When the windows in the inlet hoses come up with their red dots, it means that the leakage valve has tripped and shut off the water at the tap. No water will flow into the machine. This can be confirmed by first turning the taps off, then taking the hoses off at the machine end. While holding the loose ends of the hoses over a trough or sink, try turning the taps on. No water will come out. I've had the same thing happen to us. We were quoted $66.00AU per hose for replacements. I'm going to try to fix one of these hoses today. They have a sponge in them which expands when it gets wet and shuts off a valve. I'm going to try getting the sponge very wet and squishing it back down and hopefully opening the valve again. Hope this helps.

"FH" is a No Water Detect error.It is an indication that you either have no water coming into the washer, or very little water at all. Check whether the water taps are turned on sufficiently, the inlet hoses are not kinked, the water inlet valve is not clogged, you don't have a siphoning issue, and/or the drain pump is working.

The FH means water tap closed. If you were happy with using cold only you could get a Y-piece connector and join both the red and blue inlet hose to the cold tap.

The FH code indicates it is not detecting water fill at the flow meter. Since you say that the washer is filling okay, I would check the wiring between the flowmeter and the control board. A common cause of this problem on this machine is the wiring harness jiggling loose. Unplug and reseat the wiring harness and see if it clears up the problem. Also look for and clean out any corrosion build-up where the harness plugs in. Hope this helped and best wishes.

traced the fault to the cold water valve solenoid not operating so pleased to say that the person that sold me the washer has now given me my money back

You said the water entry into the machine is fine with nothing blocking it. But you keep getting the red light on for "water tap closed". At one point the water did start flowing in but soon stopped and turn on the warning light again. Please suggest how to fix it??

I believe this sounds like the screens are dirty and stopping water flow so it shuts down!
Dry all of the below suggestions.

Washer displaying code message and or tone sounds
“F20” (Water Inlet Problem—no water or insufficient
water supply)
First:
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.Leave power off for 5 minutes. This will reset the system!
Check the following:
Are water faucets completely turned on?
*****Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged?
Remove hose from washer an clean screens at water inlet!
Are water inlet hoses kinked?
Are water inlet hoses frozen?
Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re-select cycle and press
START. If the problem remains, call for service.
