same problem as EchoKaos's pioneer. I have already re soldered  the connections on the power board. It works for days or minutes at its own descretion.   I know its crow-barring the power supply circuit, I just don't Know why. it also pops when it goes off, sometimes.

EchoKaos may not have resoldered his PS board, which most units in that line need. This will most likely solve the problem. A virtually complete resolder is needed on that board, not just the obviously problem areas.

If not -

If the hor lines are upward and curved slightly and a couple of inches apart, then the blue Screen trimpot on the focus block is most likely turned up too high. When turned down the lines will disappear.

This mucks with your grayscale, but then it's trashed anyway by now, and after reducing it, you will have to do a new grayscale on your set, or have one done by ISF. Or a tech who knows how to set the Screen controls, since ISF does not teach that.

How do i get rid of purple horizontal distortion lines?

This is a older model and likely the first generation of HD set made by Mitsubishi---where the HD input is on rear (DTV?) ARE THERE TWO JACKS MARKED H sync and V sync?

If they are there set needed an external box made only by Mitsubishi for for later HD use.

My Sony KP-53S35 turns on, shows a blue screen, turns off

It sounds like the blue CRT (picture tube) is failing. The part number for this is 8-733-575-25 but you will need a technician to replace it for you as there is mechanical and electrical alignment to with with it. At that point it probably isn't cost effective to repair the TV. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

Horizontal pale blue lines on LCD screen and even on picture

Hey Ma-ya,
Most of the time horizontal lines are a result of taking photographs in very bright situations. If you are seeing horizontal lines on the LCD screen and in your images in low light situations this is most likely digital noise. Two ways that could fix this problem are turning the noise reduction on, and/or making sure your flash is turned on and your subject is within the range of your flash. Another cause of digital noise is having your iso set too high (I never shoot over 400 iso). I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

I have a jvc 1200 stero

As a general rule surround sound is only sent on HD signals for the dvd. Otherwise it comes to your home in basic stereo sound. Consult your user manual for ways to turn on simulated surround sound also known as Dolby ProLogic.
