I updated my garmin nuvi255 and it only shows usa maps, now I lost all of Canada

When you update the unit you are given selections based upon how much memory is available on your unit. With each map release, the map sizes become larger. On the 2xx series, you may not have had enough memory to have both the US and Canada map, so it probably only installed the lower 48 states. You will need to install the map on an SD card in order to have both maps on the unit.

You need to replace the map with a full map of the US and Canada. Did you register your unit with the Garmin website? Did you create an account? If so, you can log in and see if you can download a larger map. Otherwise you will need to purchase a new map. I can also help you with this issue but it would require for me to have your unit in front of me to do it.

Garmin gps update for free

There are no free updates for Garmin GPS's. If you have a handheld model, there are free maps on the internet but they are not supported by Garmin.

Hi,this will be dependant on the sd card and it,s maps database. if you have usa maps. this probably does,nt include maps of canada. check nuvis site, to see if canada maps are available for download or purchase.Mike @ Compurepair.

First you have to go to Garmin and download their free program called WebUpdater.

How do I unlock the Canada maps?

I had same problem, purchase Sd card, because internal memory too low for all Canada and Usa. search thepiratesbay.org for unlocker program. It works like a charm. Ps i dont know the legality of using unlocker so you may want to consult Garmin.

Either you have a bad micro SD card or you are loading more data than the card can hold.

You will need slightly less than 2GB of memory load load USA and Canada all together at the same time.

You can also try buying an external card reader and instead of loading to the garmin load the map data onto the micro SD card from the reader.

Garmin nuvi 250w during use started blinking logo. Cannot switch off, only with Reset button. But when switched on again only blinking logo happens. Is there a solution? When I was driving Garmin nuvi 250w started blinking logo. unable to switch the device off. I preseed reset button on the bottom of the device. It went off. When switced on by the power button the logo started blinking again. Tried to connect Garmin to PC, but the device is not found. Any suggestions how to give life to the device before I use the last source, a "hammer" medicine?
