Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Upper right quadrant of my Vizio TV is dark!

This model had issues with cold solder connections going from the power to LED driver board, I think you will see the issues once you remove the power supply, the 2 boards plug directly into each other, its the power supply plug that gives issues

My vizio will not turn on. The light on the bottom flashes on and off, but nothing on the screen. I replaced the main board. It worked for several days then went right back this issue.

Have just looked on you tube , I typed in fix for VIZIO E500i -B1 power off and a 2.24 minute video appeared . if that does not solve your problem type the product info and fault again and check the videos that pop up . hope this info is of use to you....

I have a VIZIO E500i-a0 and it has a section of the screen (lower 1/3rd) that shifts out of focus with a horizontal line dividing the top 2/3rds. when in focus, its a little darker than the top part.

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

Some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.

How to I get a new remote sensor for Vizio E500i-A1

You can get it from most of the electronic spare part shops. It is an easy to get component, and won't cost more.
There are many types and numbers to it, and you should make sure about the type and number of remote sensor fitted with your TV; before buying a new one.
