How to i fix AIWA model #CXZR525 cd player

If the unit continues to skip after cleanig the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol, the optics are failing and need to be replaced. These units use Sony optics (KSS-213C I think) and are readily available for $25 or so. Any service shop should be able to replace this for under $100 total.

i have an aiwa stereo system model no: cx- za20k ,the twin cassette deck works fine,but there is no playback from the c d player,the stereo takes 3 cd s and the player just says reading and changes to the next cd endlessly any one help please

Have the same problem with one of the cd-players in my home. A technics cd-player. Some fo the home-burned cd's work now and then. Sometimes it plays them, sometimes not.

SOURCE: The CD player won't recognize CD's.

Most of those CDs they sell are just a gimmick, nothing can replace a good hand cleaning with a cue-tip done by taking the whole thing apart. Take it to the local technician to get it cleaned properly first and foremost, or do it yourself if you feel safe enough taking all this apart and cleaning a tiny fragile little lens with a cue-tip and windex yourself. If a good hand cleaning like that does not work, then it means the reader head itself is defective and need to be replaced. If this is the case, don't bother. A cheap head will go for around 200$ usually and sometimes more, and at the price you get a new complete system it will be better buying a whole new sound system.
