It maybe a power source issue, this is not easy to detect, consult a local expert. You may also want to check your home power infraestructure.

Toner save mode
Reduces toner consumption by approximately 10%.
Power save modes
The unit has two power save modes of operation: preheat mode and auto power
shut-off mode.
Preheat mode
When the unit enters the preheat mode, the power save indicator will light up
and other indicators will remain on or off as before. In this condition, the fuser in
the unit is maintained at a lower heat level, thereby saving power. To copy from
the preheat mode, make desired copier selections and press the start key
using the normal copying procedure.
Auto power shut-off mode
When the unit enters the auto power shut-off mode, the power save ( ) indicator
will light up and other indicators except the ONLINE indicator will go out. The auto
power shut-off mode saves more power than the preheat mode but requires a
longer time before starting copying. To copy from the auto power shut-off mode,
press the start key. Then make desired copier selections and press the star key using the normal copying procedure.
Auto clear
The unit returns to the initial settings a preset amount of time after the end of copy, or

For description of the stream feeding mode, see "Stream feeding mode".
Resolution of AUTO & MANUAL mode
You can set the copy resolution used for AUTO and MANUAL ( ) exposure
mode.

Gateway computer is stuck in power saving mode.

The Gateway 818GM is a few years old but if - hopefully - the motherboard auto-detects a video card, try removing the MSI MS-8936 video card & swapping over the monitor lead to the other VGA connector fed from the motherboard.

Failing that, if you think it's a faulty video card, they're cheaply available on eBay eg for US$6.70 here:

Acer pc and lg monitor blank screen says power save mode on start up, anyone know how to fix this?

Actually during start-up there is a slight delay before the HDD & OS is detected by the CPU. Normally all monitors slip into power saving mode within 10 secs of inactivity of either mouse or keystroke. This inactivity is read by the monitor which promptly switches to power saving mode. However the moment the HDD LED starts blinking, the monitor wakes up & starts displaying. This power saving mode in most of the flat screens is only associated with movement of mouse or keypad. This does not register till the CPU starts up & thats why the monitor switches over to power saving mode till it starts receiving signal from the CPU.
It is a normal behaveour, so don't get worked up over it, plus you can always hit the Auto set feature on the monitor after booting the PC completely. ( I think the time out for the monitor to enter power saving mode is only 10 secs). Hope this helps.

How to install a4 tech web cam

mercurydeluxefront.jpgThe camera has auto and manual white balance options. You can choose from daylight, shade, tungsten or fluorescent. You can set the exposure to Auto or Manual, from a range of 2.0 to -2.0. It doesn't have a red eye reduction mode; the flash only has Auto, On and Off modes. It supports both NTSC and PAL for TV output. The camera uses four AAA 1.5V batteries, either Alkaline, NiCD or Ni-MH batteries. It has a power save mode that automatically turns off the camera after a minute or two of inactivity. It's very helpful in saving battery life. The camera has no optical zoom, and a very useless digital zoom of 4X, for both preview and playback.

Pics can be transferred via the USB cable, and the camera is automatically detected in Windows XP. The same cable is used to stream video in the Webcam mode.
