Brother Industrial Quality Overlocker. Hi, please can any one advise on replacing blades on industrial Brother Overlocker?

It may be that the blades are not as sharp as they should be. You can improve the edge on a 5000 grit whetstone or just try another set of blades.

I change the news blade for Juki MO2516N serger but it doesn't cut the fabric. Please advise me how to fix it. Thanks, Van

hi there,
which blade you change? upper or lower one?
for lower one just make the top surface for blade aqual with throat plat.
for upper lower turn handwheel to make blade at lowest position in that time the upper lower must be lower than lower blade by arround 2.5mm and keep in your main the two blade also must be very close no space between it.

I have a Babylock 5260 serger and have changed the blades before but this time when I changed them I can't get them to align correctly. the top blade comes down and hits the bottom blade. I cant figure out...

First make sure that both blades have no burrs on the them from hitting pins. Then set the lower blade so that the cutting surface is flush with the surface of the needle plate. Then adjust the upper blade so that when it comes down to it's lowest position on the downward stroke of the cutter arm, that the cutting edge comes down past the lower blade at least 1MM. That will ensure a full cut of the blades.

I want to know which knob I use to make the stitching narrower

there are generally two variable controls .. one adjusts the stitch length (distance between stitches measured in stitches per inch) ... the second is stitch width .. that adjusts how far the zigzag moves left and right .. thats usually just a number from 0 to 10 or so .. 10 would be maximum width .. 0 would be used for straight stitch ..
so you need to adjust the stitch width control to make the stitching narrower .. the controls are called different things on different brand sewing machines .. if you have the brand and model number then there may be instruction booklets available ...

Blades will not cut

A few things to check here; 1. do the blades cross over each other when the upper blade is fully down - if not make sure lower blade is flush with top of needle plate and then loosen upper blade and set it so that the blades cross over for the full length of the blade when down. 2. is there any lint or thread caught between the blades - push the upper blade to the right and look between the blades and remove any material caught between them. 3. are the blades damaged - blades can become chipped from sewing over pins etc and also become dull after considerable use (replace if damaged).

Machine does not cut more than one layer at a time

The upper blade most likely needs to be replaced or sharpened.

Rolled hem or rolled edge

You need to disengage the cutting blade by openingfirstly opening the front and left hand side covers. pull on the larger of the two silver knobs and slide the red lever towards you. I'm not sure what the tension settings are, but I'm certain you need to reduce them a fair bit to aid in the rolling effect. I only use 3 threads when doing a rolled hem.
My description isn't too detailed but I hope it helps!
