How do you turn off the voice command on a flip phone

Here's a suggestion I found with a Google search:

Go to Menu > Settings > Sound Settings > Readout > select Flip open and talk > Turn it off.

What did your manual say about that which didn't work, please?

Get her a touch screen phone, and set it up with a bluetooth headset, and voice commands/voice dialing. I rarely have to even touch mine except to charge it. A call comes in, press 1 button to answer, the same button to hang up.

Press the Voice Command key, and when prompted, say turn prompts off. To turn Voice Command on, press the Voice Command key and say turn prompts on.
