It doesnt matter. Its an AC lamp. Either terminal is fine. I know this is an old posting but it may help someone else.

SOURCE: do I need to order the housing with the lamp after burn-out?

you can order just the bulb then install that in your housing. Being careful not to touch the new bulb with your bare hands as the oils from your finger tips will cause the lamp to fail prematurely.

Mitsubishi Wd-73638 code 6 red 1 yellow not sure what that is please help

No error code 61 listed, only a 66 error code which indicates lamp issues:
66
A) Lamp did not turn on at P-ON sequence... Check CJ4 circuitry
B) No Lamp Inserted............... No Lamp inserted
C) Disconnected cable between ballast and lamp.... HV connection or lead wire to lamp.
D) Lamp-Enable goes to PWB-MAIN but not to Ballast....Lamp Cartridge Failure

for lamp see the following web site: http://www.shopjimmy.com/dlplamps?tv_brands_select=Mitsubishi&tv_models=Mitsubishi+WD-73638
recommend using the manufacture part# as many replacements for Mitsubishi will not work.

Brake lights stay on when headlights are on even when I'm not braking. 2001 mitsubishi montero sport

It is possible that you have a bad brake light switch that is sticking. (However, this will usually happen all the time, not just with the headlamps on.)

You MAY have a defective bulb. Sometimes the wires inside a bulb will "warp" from heat and cause a short in the bulb where the tail/brake filaments will touch each other.

Also make sure that all of the tail/brake lamp bulbs are the CORRECT bulbs for the vehicle.

A bulb that is installed incorrectly can also cause this.

If you have trailer wiring on your Montero, this is also a likely source of a short between the tail/brake lamps.

Finally, check the sockets to make sure they are not shorted.

I cannot get the wire clasps to snap back into place after replacing the housing lamp. Model HLT4675S...There is a wire bracket that holds the lamp in place. I cannot get it to snap back.

Hi
Make sure you have the lamp turned in the right direction and also make sure the front of the lamp or bulb is flush with the front of the lamp housing, if it is not then you have the lamp in the wront posistion and you are trying to put the bracket on the high end of the lamp. And also make sure you purchased the correct lamp, so people by just the blub and not the lamp housing which is less expensive this way, but you need to examine the bulb througly to make sure you get a phillips type lamp.

My bulb went out in my x1a so i replaced it now it

is the led on the top of the projector blinkng at all? if there is no led lit, the fuse on the power supply may be blown or the power supply itself needs replacing. turn the projector on. you should hear the fans and a high-pitched whir. if you don't hear that whir or it sounds like a noisy motor, the colorwheel needs replacing. if it sounds good but no light, make sure you have the correct lamp. the x1a takes the sp-lamp-009 lamp. it should have 2 white wires, each at opposite ends of the plug. if you have a lamp with a red wire and a white wire, you have a lamp for an x2. also make sure the lamp door is closed completely. if the door is closed (hitting the switch), the lamp is correct, the led is green, and the sounds are good and it still does not light, the ballast is bad and needs replacing.

Mitubishi WD-57732

I'm assuming that you already have the housing out of the TV. If not remove the lamp cover panel (two phillips screws), Locate and unscrew the two chromed flat blade screws that hold the module in place and gently pull the housing out. Now locate the three locking tabs on the housing. There is a large one on the bulb face side, and two smaller ones on the mesh screen side near the handle end. Using a thin bladed screw driver, slide it under the curved edge next to each of the small tabs and gently pry up to pop the side cover off of the tabs. Rotate the back cover (three sided) so that the small tabs come clear of the rectangular holes in the cover. (It should pivot on the third tab). Now use the screw driver to gently pry the U shaped clip off and over the third tab. Once all three tabs have been released the back half should just slide back and off the front half. Reassembly is basically just sliding the back cover back on until the tabs lock into place. While the bulb is out blow all the dust out of all THREE screens (there is a small one next to the greyish metal plate).

Replace the bulb by removing all the internal screws necessary to release it from the housing, noting how everything goes back together, including which wire goes to which terminal (If your bulb does not come with new wires you'll have to swap them to the new bulb), and where the "UP" marking on the bulb goes. Drawing a picture or better yet taking a few pictures is a good idea. When installing the new bulb do not touch the bulb with your bare hands (use latex gloves). Supposedly the skin oils can cause the bulb to fail prematurely. Finally make sure that the wires do not touch the bulb and are as far away from it as possible after it is back together, if necessary open it back up and bend the wires to reposition them.

CHANGE HEAD LIGHT

you change the bulb from inside the engine compartment . raise the hood and feel for a plastic retaining ring in the back of the headlite. Loosen 1/4 turn and bulb socket and old bulb will pull out from the headlite assembly Unplug the old bulb and replace with new one . assemble in reverse order.

Mitsubishi 62" dlp wd-62525

The lamp is either defective, not connected properly to the wiring or plugs (careful alignment required on the two connections), wrong type bulb, or the front panel is not replaced properly to trigger the panel sense switch (lower right side of panel)
