I'm not sure what card, I need to replace on my TV to fix it and was hoping you could help.

I'm getting a popup box saying 'No Signal Found' message when the cable is connected and the TV is in Cable TV mode. The screen shows just black and white static. This changes intermittently to white and black static when I move the cable input. I checked the input cable with another good TV set I have and get a strong signal so I know the cable and the signal is OK. I connected an HDMI signal from my laptop to the problem TV and have no problems with the picture or sound. This problem used to be intermittent but when I would hit it hard enough near the input to the cable connector on the back of the TV, it would fix the problem for a while. But this no longer works. I suspect a bad connection on the main board, probably at the cable connector but I'm not 100% sure. They go for about $75-100 so I want to make sure this is the most likely problem before I go and buy it. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Those solder joints aren't easy to get to since they're under a metal shield. I guess I'll have to replace the whole board. Thanks,

You are on the right track determining that there is a connection hassle preventing your tuner from working properly. Could be a bad wire connection or a bad solder joint on the board.

Sgnal not found

Lila, Signal not found, check all your connections to your cable box, satellite box or Arial, which ever you are using. Make sure cable connections are good and not damaged. On some TV's the setup manual tells you to do a search of all available channels before you can view. TV has to be set to the correct source or input. Try changing the source or input to AV, TV, Digital TV or DTV to see if this is the problem. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

My panasonic viera has just stopped working. I can play a dvd but not watch tv, It says no signal. I have checked all leads and none are loose. It worked yesterday!! What is wrong with it? Please help

What is your TV source? Is it OTA, cable or satellite? Do you use a set top box or a direct coax cable connection? If you have OTA, what antenna do you use?

Try the following depending on your setup:

For all, check if a lightning/surge protector has taken a surge and needs to be replaced. These are placed in the coaxial line to divert a surge that could destroy your electronics. Also try replacing the cables. Check exposed cable for damage.

For OTA, first check that your antenna is oriented to point to the transmitters in your area. (Outside antennas will sometimes turn in the wind; indoor ones can be bumped.) Try a new coaxial cable. If the antenna has an amplifier (or you use a splitter with or without an amplifier), try connecting the cable directly without the device. I've had several amplifiers fail and turn into signal filters (blocking all of the signal).

For any system with a set top box, make sure that the box is on. For satellite, make sure that your dish hasn't moved out of alignment.

To check if it is the Viera TV tuner or the incoming signal, try another TV at the same connection. If you have cable and another TV gets no signal directly connected to your incoming connection, you may need the company to fix the incoming cable. (Underground cables can be damaged by rodents or neighbors who dig without checking for utilities.)

I hope this helps.

I have Dish 322 receiver. Everything was fine; a week or so ago satellite 119 reception was spotty, now we can't get 119 at all. We get 110 but only about 34%. Sometimes the receiver will power itself off...

It looks like you have lost the signal for the 119 satellite from your dish. Are you getting an error message, either 002 or 015, saying the satellite signal has been lost or acquiring satellite signal? First, check the cables on the back of the receiver to make sure they are secure. You can also run a check switch test to see if there is a problem between your dish and receiver.

Press the Menu button on your remote. This will bring up the Main Menu on your TV screen. Input the numbers: 6 (System Setup), 1 (Installation), and 1 (Point Dish). On the right side of the Point Dish screen are 3 buttons. Select the Check Switch button. Within the 2 large boxes are satellite numbers and green or red boxes. Make a note of the satellite numbers (should be 119, 110), the trans, the device, and switch. Super dish and alternate should not be checked. Select the Test button on the bottom of the screen. If a box pops up with a warning about TV 2, select Yes. It will now run the check switch test. Let it complete the test. After completion, the screen will automatically go back to the Installation Summary screen. You may get a message stating that the Check Switch test has found fewer satellites than previously detected. If you get this message cancel out of each screen (do not save the results) till you are back to the TV screen and it is acquiring Satellite signal.

If you don't get that error message, see if the information on the Installation Summary has changed. Then select Done on the next 2 screens and cancel out of the others till you get the message, Acquiring Satellite Signal. After it finishes acquiring satellite signal and downloads the program guide, see if you are getting a picture - try different channels. If you still have problems, please email me at, [email protected]. If you are still experiencing problems, we will need to send a technician to fix the problem.

Phillips 47 inch flat screen tv is 4 years old tv comes on but a box says no signal comes up what do I do

Check that you have the tv set to the current input and the correct channel (esp you have a set top box feeding the TV signal). Make sure that device is on and working. Check the cables for damage.

If you are using OTA, make sure your antenna is rotated in the correct direction. If you use an amplifier or splitter, try the signal strength without the accessory. Replace if the direct connection helps.

If the TV is connected to a computer, make sure that the port is active and sending a signal.

If none of these help, you may need to replace the video board or tuner (or both) depending on your source. (Some parts are available at partstore.com and shopjimmy.com (which specializes in minimally used parts from electronics damaged in shipping.)

I hope this helps.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40EX400. Every morning I have to reboot my cable box to get my cable signal. I get the "Unsupported Signal" message and no picture if I don't. I have seen other posts about this...

All symptoms show that cable box is cause of problem, not sure that its internale circuit problem (signal processing in cable box) or its getting distorted signal from cable company.
TV sounds good because it works fine with blu ray player that is HD signal as well.
Change cable box just to confirm it.
I hope this tv would be under warranty so ask nearest Sony service to update its firmware under warranty cover that might fix the issue.
Thanks.

S video out

Hi,

To my thinking, your concern would largely be dependent on the Screen Resolution setting of the PC. It may be that the screen resolution be initially lowered down to the lowest possible.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Can't get picture

Hello matthew95765,
The TV is working, the message is coming from the dish box. What you need to do is to determine if the dish box is connected to the dish and that it has signal at the box, because the message it is delivering to the TV is that it is not receiving signal from the satellite. so you have to check the connection at the satellite and at the box because those are the only point that can generate the error you are getting.
I hope this helps,
Thank you,
