04 escalade rear air compressior does not come on

ive worked on alot of theses, most times they are noisey or dont work as in your case, the #1 reason is due to a bad compressor, this is located under rear bumper area, easy to replace, just remove a few rubber covers and three bolts and an air line, anyway first check the fuse,there are three fuse boxs in this truck, you will be looking at the engine compartment fuse box, i have enclosed a picture to help and also i circled the location ,. if the fuse is good then check the relay, the relay is located outside this fusebox on the side, i also enclosed a picture of that, most of the time the fuse may be blown due to a bad compressor and sometimes not, anyway if the relay checks good and fuse good then replace the compressor, or if you replace the fuse and it pops then replace the compressor. the compressor i found to be COSTLY, i found a website that i deal with alot for this type of stuff, like compressors and air bag shocks, check them out and compare the price with dealer, there compressors are top of the line, never had a problem and have been dealing with this company for 8yrs, heres the web site,www.arnottindustries.com.hope this help ,good dayjohnjohn2_101.gifjohnjohn2_102.gifjohnjohn2_103.gif

Have a 4horsepower neo plasma split that keeps tripping out the fuse in the meter box.have had air con guy out and he says the 14 amp fuse is not sufficient for this air con even though it has run on it...

Please note your fuse wire must be 2 to 3 times of running amps. Suppose running amps is 6.5, the fuse wire must be minimum 15 and maximum 20 amps. Always choose the maximum.
Other chances for fuse blown;

And in your a/c, If your fuse tripped as soon as compressor starts, check compressor winding with ohms. In between 2 terminal it should be equal in 3 phase compressor. In single phase compressor, SR must be the total of other two.If any huge difference it means winding weak. If any ohms reads between any terminal and grounding it means compressor grounded for which you have to replace compressor.
Hope, it's helpful?

3amp fuse is blowing.

Disconnect the yellow wire from the thermostat and tape off the end. Turn the power back on. If the fuse blows, it is not in your wire nor the compressor contactor. If the fuse does not blow, turn off the power, reconnect the wire, and replace the fuse. Then, disconnect the wire from the compressor contactor and tape it off. Turn the power back on. If the fuse blows, it will eliminate the compressor contactor coil and will likely be a "short" in the wire itself. The yellow wire goes from your T-stat to your air handler and from your air handler, it goes to the oudoor unit's compressor contactor.

BLOWS FUSES EVERYTIME I TURN AIR ON

do you have a 38 shot gun? i only ask because it may be time to get it loaded. the most common cuase of fuses tripping is your compressor. going to ground. before you shoot it you should inspect the 3 wires connected to the compressor to ensure they haven't melted together. if the wires are fine record their position, remove them and cover the ends (seperatly) in black tape so that no metal is showing then replace the fuses and restart if they trip your compressor is fine if everything else starts then your compressor is toast. expect to spen $1500 ish for the compressor. go to aireserv.com on the right there is a repair replacement calcualtor. you'll find it is best to replace the unit. write back if it isn't your compressor and you want to tackle further issues.
