How does a pneumatic system work on an aircraft piston engine?

The piston engine is the power plant. It generates thrust by turning the propeller, electrical power through the generator, hydraulic power with engine oil and/or a hydraulic system. It also sometimes has a vacuum pump in the form of a sliding vane pump to operate the mechanical gyros instruments. On a piston engine there is no "bleed air" supply. For the cabin pressure pneumatic system, piston aircraft, take compressed air from the compressor side of the turbocharger (or supercharger old airplanes) and routed into the cabin as long as the engine is running. The outflow valve which regulates how much air is let out of the cabin is used to maintain the desired cabin pressure. The cabin outflow valve is controlled by a cabin pressure controller where the pilot sets the cabin pressure and climb or descent rates. This is the only pneumatic system I can think of other than "de-icing boots" on the wing leading edge that are pneumatically operated.
A "receiver" is usually associated with a receiver/dryer in an air conditioning system.

How do I prime the hydraulic pump om a dump trailer.

I've always just cycled a hydraulic system full open of the piston and then full closed. The air works it's way out on its own.

Need piston rod for rep0200604 compressor

A search of your model number turns up a powermate compressor. Unfortunately the piston rod is not available as a seperate part, you have to order the entire pump/motor unit. The only place I could find it was at this link:

2060p only pumps 3 to 4 lbs . will not come up to pressure. reed valve looks good. unit is approx. 2 yrs old its been used for pumping tires and small air nailer home use only. any suggestions as to what...

You will need to check the cylinder for scarring (deep vertical grooves or depressions in the cylinder) and also the piston rings for damage. Sometimes you need to shine a flashlight behind the piston and look down the cylinder to see if there is any wear. If you are only getting 3-4 lbs of pressure your piston is not pumping therefore I would think that the air is just blowing by the piston. Also check your connecting rod and wrist pin. Sometimes the bearing will blow out and not make the rod go completely up and down. Does the motor sound like it is bogging down at all? Make sure you drain all oil and remove the crankcase cover to inspect for any damage. Post back with any questions, I will monitor this post.

Do you know how I can get a Goodman Ht pmp Manual

this manual willl not help your system perform better , have a qualified tech check your sub-cooling. temp diff, and match your piston with your coil. many goodman systems may say they are 3 or 4 ton but are half a ton smaller than advertised at the compressor. a three ton system will have a two and a half ton compressor

Not holding air

First remove the air filter on the compressor. Start the compressor and place your hand over the air intake. You should feel it sucking your hand in. If you don't feel it then it's your pump. If it passes this test then get a spray bottle with soapy water and spray it all over the unit. Look for bubbles and repair those leaks.
For pump repair steps I need to know if it is a piston pump or rotory. If your not sure, no problem. I need the make and model # of the compressor for further instructions.

Hydraulic jack wont move.

Hi, A hydraulic jack is a pretty simple device, consisting of a piston/ cylinder, an oil reservoir, and a valve. You close the valve, pump the handle, which pumps oil into the cylinder and raises the jack. When you open the valve, it allows the oil to flow back into the reservoir and the jack will lower. If it still has oil in it, ( or is still in the up position) start with the valve, you should be able to remove it an clean it up. If you need more help, let me know. Good Luck, this should Fixya!

Not building pressure into tank

If it's a newer model the parts are surprisingly inexpensive in some cases. Locate the parts and you may be surprised, I know I was a few times replacing whole piston assembly for almost just a few bucks and so quick and hassle free. And that fixed the no air into the tank issue I had on the job back up and running in an hour counting going to get parts. If it's oill free that's what I had, very inexpensive and easy just replace the piston assemblies undo the rod and it should drop right out the bottom.
