If new remote does not work, then what do you think is wrong?

Take out the batteries,leave the remote to be unpower about an hour.Let all old memory codes erase it self.Put in new batteries to the remote.Enter the codes again.Should work now.

The Harmony 600 will work with a Daenyx tv. It costs about $80.00 and codes are provided by the Harmony website during programming. The site just needs the product name and model number. I don't think WalMart would carry it but a good electronic products shop will.

First of all, make sure you have good batteries in the original remote(I have seen brand new batteries be bad) and make sure that the connections are clean. Then make sure that the remote is in TV mode and see if it will work your TV. If there are no codes for your TV that came with the RCA remote, you will need one that does, or you will need to replace the original remote. I have seen a lot of times where universal remotes will not work combo units at all, no matter if there are codes listed or not.

Did you install the batteries correctly?
Some remotes (Universal) need to be re-programed when you install new batteries.
Go to remotefinder.rca.com/default.aspx?site=rca for proper codes.

Not all the universal remotes are compatible with all the sets out there. Look on the list and see if there are any RCA sets to begin with. Try them all to see if there is one that will work.

If you cannot make the remote work, bring it back.

When shopping for a universal remote, always make sure that your model of TV set is on the compatiblity list of the new remote.

I would think that an RCA universal remote should work with RCA products. This may be a good start.

Just remember that universal remotes are not fully compatible to all the functions. They will usualy only work with the main functions of the TV set or intended device. There are too many limitations in the software and design when considering all the millions of code combinations that are out there!

Cleaning will help only for removing dirt. I think in your case, the contacts in the circuit board and the rubber pad is damaged with heavy use. So use CARBON INK to recreate the contacts in the circuit board. Also use carbon dots(Available in sticker form) in rubber pad.
