SOURCE: what engine oil is used

The generator engine is shipped from the factory filled with
oil (API SJ or higher 10W-30). This allows for generator
operation in the widest range of temperature and climate
conditions. Before starting the engine, check oil level and
ensure that engine is serviced as described in Maintenance.

What weight oil do I use for a 5000 watt Coleman generator

Depends on the temperature where yuo will operate it, but a good multi-viscosity oil like 10W-30 should work. 5W-30 for cold climates.

Oil type

If you are asking about the engine oil, generators like the 10W 30 weight oil, which is good for winter and summer use. . The brand doesn't matter to any gret extent. Just don't buy the el cheapo brand in the dollar store.

The key is stuck up

You do not indicate which instrument, but I would guess in most cases it will be the result of the wrong oil being used on the key's pivot point, or sealing area. Sewing machine oil, Labelle light oil, or nondetergent synthetic motor oil 5 weight single viscosity should be used- nothing from a spray can as you can glue things together with a couple of them quite thoroughly.
If the materials are metal, warming the area with an incandescent light bulb of about 40 watts should loosen things up. If plastic is involved, nothing more than a 20 Watt incandescent.

What type and weight of oil do you use

Porter Cable recommends straight 30 weight synthetic oil for their engines. However, If you live in a colde climate or in a hot climate, the use of multi-viscosity oils is my recommendation. Straight 30 weight oil in my cold climate would not work. So, it really depends on where you live.
30/5 works well in a cold climate like mine.

Hope this helps. If it does, I would appreciate a vote. Thanks,

Handie Andie

Generator is burning oil and choking out

You have/had too much oil in it. After it is brought down to proper level, it may have to burn the oil that is in areas that it should not be in. Another thing that may cause this, is a dirty air filter, can cause enough suction to pull oil around valves, and other places a clean filter will not. It may have oil in the filter too.

Can't re-lock printer back cover.

You can use less greasy oil or something like the vehicle engine oil.

Any kind of thin lubricant is always yield good results.

Do not use vegetable oil or cooking oil/sunflower oil etc.
