Try that vista driver. I tried some vista drivers for some devices and they worked for me :)
For any 2nd hand BlackBerry, you have to format you device and configure newly ,. for enable blue tooth, Or follow the below instruction Screen menu> manage connection> check mark on <blue tooth> Save

I have had the sam problem on 2 of the same scanners.
Open the scanner cover and slide the transparency unit transportation lock to the unlocked position. Then close the scanner cover.Power it on and there you go.Somehow this little switch can get moved and there is the grinding noise and not working.
Here is link to driver. Click on External Mirror 1 to download. Disconnect scanner from usb before downloading and installing the software, connect back only when required by scanner software or after installation.
