L505D. Why won't it boot?

I tried to upgrade to win 10 and hated it. When I tried to go back to win 7 the computer won't boot. It says it's missing files. I don't have the backup cd. I have lots of stuff, pictures, tax info, I don't want to lose.

The problem that microsoft didn't mention is that upgrades to win 10 on win 7 causes conflicts and problems
The correct method is to install win 10 as a full OS and there will be no problems
you can download win 7 from the microsoft (genuine ) site and if there is a problem with authentication call microsoft help line
Before you do anything save everything possible to an external hard drive
Talk with an IT expert would be a good idea before doing anything as there may be a way of removing the win 10 upgrade

I tried to install Windows 7 many times.it is going to load the files and when it restart it self it can go through unless I press f1 and it start from a start

several possible reason
trying to install over an existing installation causing conflicts
damage cd that is being used to install from
Bios not properly set for the boot disc selection
problem HHD hard drive
If you are trying to reinstall win 7 after a disastrous win 10 up grade attempt to may have to consider uninstalling win 10 upgrade and then save all data and files to an external disc and then reformat the hard drive and reinstall a fresh win 7 program

When the VIZIO PC was Purchased in 2012 it came with windows 7x64 Home Premium. seen than i have formatted the HDD since than and install windows 10 pro x64bit from my usb drive using clean boot.

neither
upgrading to win 10 from win 7 without using the win 10 cd or gig stick creates a conflict of operating systems in the C drive
I had the same problem thinking that it was a free upgrade and when installed the pc gave me heaps
talked to my IT wiz and he explained that the upgrade caused problems and if I wanted to use win 10 install it from the media after uninstalling win 7
needless to say I am still using win 7 after I uninstalled the win 10 and the pc is trouble free up till now as there are driver problems appearing, win live mail problems and other issues because win 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft and the program is slowly breaking down
AS for you problem c, take it to an IT geek and have him get into the os to clear the upgrade
Then get the win 10 program and have him uninstal win 7 and install win 10 for you

Getting past Windows XP sign in and password. I tried using starting in safe mode but it still came up before I can get in. I've tried using the upgrade usb I made to get it into Windows 10.

Safemode is F8 during boot and it should come up unless you missed the right time interval. Tap it repeatedly during post. IF you still can get in, then you will have to download a boot disk with a password program on it. Hirens boot CD is one of those.

My laptop hp 655b on win10 after start there a notice saying it will shut down in 1 minute

it indicates a problem in the boot up process
missing files or corrupt program
could be a failing hard drive or a compatibility with the win 10 operating system especially if you just used the win 10 upgrade on another platform like win 7
take it to a laptop repair shop and have it tested and diagnosed

My aspire one has windows 7 and it's missing drivers. When I try to find them online it can't find them

Missing drivers seem to happen with windows 7. You can try booting up your computer with the original Windows 7 DVD - but DO NOT do a fresh install - do a windows repair. Hopefully the missing driver will be installed and you will not loose any data.

Good luck - it that fails it might be a good time to upgrade to Win 10 - I have found that it is quite stable and takes care of all Win 7 driver issues.

How or where do i get a windows 7 boot download to copy to disc to sort my omnibook xe3 out it currently has win98se installed but thirs allsorts missing.

Upgrade the memory and try win xp you'll see better performance. You can download win 7 from lots of places free.

It is the license that you have to purchase that people seem to be trying to find a get around for.

Just go to Microsoft website or search for win 7 iso

Good luck and thanks

I have Vista OS on my laptop & have never been able to get automatic updates to work. I have had nothing but problems with this OS & want to instal Win 7 but I am told I can't do that until I see...

Don't worry about "compatibility" issues. You can pretty much force Win 7 onto just about any laptop.

What you need to do is backup your files (that is if you have any you want saved)

You need to do a CLEAN install, not the UPGRADE when you boot from the Windows 7 cd.

Delete ALL of the partitions...then hit NEXT.

When it's done installing, run the updates and if you're missing any drivers after the updates post back the model of your laptop / desktop and we'll help you patch the missing ones.

Best of luck!
