SOURCE: Wired bass control knob

Not all controls are the same. Manufacturers use various schemes to control the level of the audio. If you use a control that's wired improperly, you risk damaging your amp.

My DB Drive pd 1200.1 amp shuts off when the volume is raised. What is happening and what should I do?

The vibration from the bass is cutting off the amp. it is a loose wire causing this issue. you can also get a stabilizer that will stop the vibrations from causing this issue.

Is the bass boost the gain or frequency knob?

Bass boost simply adds DB or gain to the bass signal. Some like it, some dont.
The frequency knob is the Low Pass Filter (LPF) that cuts off the amp output above
the set frequency. A bass system usually cuts off below 400 HZ and more often 200HZ.
A good, rattle your car bass note is in the 25-80HZ range or lower but most amps and audio
input devices cant attain a good low note with clarity.
"Low-pass filter allows only frequencies below the crossover point to be amplified. A high-pass filter allows only frequencies above the crossover point to be amplified - useful for keeping low bass away from small speakers, so they can play more efficiently."

Does anyone know how to make a bass knob remote out of phone line? What the color code? I have 4 different color wire here but i don't know what to do to make a bass knob remote.

It is NOT clear what you are trying to do... HOWEVER if you are attempting to extend a bass potentiometer remotely, you CANNOT use the four wire flat telephone line as it is unshielded and you will pick up hum.

Bass control stopped working

on rockford amps, the bass control knob needs to be connected to get the maximum output (+18 db gain i believe). If you did this to the power wires, then yes, you may have at least damaged the bass control knob. Try replacing this to see if you get all of your gain back. If not, then you have damaged something inside the amp...maybe a capacitor or power supply inside. If that's the case, you'll need to get the amp looked at by an electronics repair technician or local stereo shop.

Wired remote bass control knobs

I'm wanting to know the same thing... But be careful on the pin out of the control you get.

I have an audiobahn 2300HCQ amp... Before I had the 1800. The 1800 came with a remote with 6pin remote cord. I got the 2300 used and did not get a control for it. The plug on the 2300 is a 4 pin plug... I can't figure out how to cross it over correctly to get the 1800 remote to work on the 2300.

I have tools to crimp an end... Just can't figure out the color pin out.
