It's actually a bunch of colored lines right next to each other so from a distance it looks like one line about an inch wide. It is always there, on all inputs, and it overlaps everything including menus. If I twist the TV the line changes slightly but it always stays in the same spot. I disconnected the ribbon cable that goes to the T-con board on the same side as the vertical lines. The screen went white when the ribbon cable was disconnected but I could still (faintly) see the line. I did not disconnect the other two cables that go to the t-con. What do you think is causing this? T-con board? Cracked LCD?
I hate to give you bad news but I believe this will be a panel issue and it's not going to be fixable. You can try a different tcon board but I don't think it will help
