My Homeric oscillating cool humidifier leaks between the base and jug. This is the first time we have filled it since last winter. It's only a couple years old and worked fine before. Why a leak

Does it have a rubber “O” ring above the threads where the base and jug screw together? If so then check to see if it is soft and pliable( tight) or if is stretched and cracked or broken. Replace it just the same Sometimes these are not the best quality and a season of no use can cause then to dry out completely and crack, hope this helps.

Before we replaced our furnace, I had to replace the transformer almost every year. When the new furnace was installed last year, the transformer disappeared. Now with winter coming on, the 550 hasn't

Hello, seems like there is no way to turn on the humidifier. There would either need to be a new transformer installed, a current sensing relay, or a sail switch to activate the humidifier when the blower motor kicks on.

How and when do i clean the filter

I assume when you say FILTER-- you mean the wicking pad, right?
This is the pad that absorbs the water, and rotates into the path of the air stream- thus increasing the humidity in the room..

I just did a quick search on the internet, and I came across a review on this humidifier--- Here is what she says:

Usually we start running it in late October. It is December now and we have bought THREE pads already this year. One pad should last at least for the few months we use it each year.

If you are fussy, you might want to change it 2 or 3 times in a winter-- others might last thru the whole winter-- Obviously it will have less mold, and will evaporate better, the more often you change it.

Honeywell TruSteam Humidifier has a burnt out element

It sounds to me as though they have the market cornered on this unit. If it says the element is bad and they say they don't sell them, your only recourse is to but a new one. I think I would look into another brand, even though Honeywell are top of the line. It would seem to me if it says to replace it that it should be able to be replaced? I would call Honeywell myself and find out if I were you.

Ge Zoneline heatpump works fine in the summer but in the winter with 45 to 50 degree days the compresser hardly runs. By turning the thremostate you can get it to run for a short period. I have 6 of these...

These Ge Zonelines have and ambiant Temp control on the unit when the temp drops it drops out the compressor and goes to electric heat. This keeps the unit from getting iced up. They do go bad and sometimes they shut off to soon. I just replace them and everything goes back to normal. They are located on the outside part of the unit. Just slide out the unit and it is located I beleive on the right side of unit Rus.

Aprilaire 760 keeps running.

The humidifier should not turn on untill the furnace blower starts. Since the fan stays on. does the solenoid valve also stay on? If they both stay on you probably have a bad humidistat. If only the blower stays on then the circuit bourd in the humidifier is defective.
Good luck
