Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

The button on the back of the tv is a multi function type. It can be used to turn on/turn off/change inputs. Press it once to turn on the tv, press and hold to turn off the tv. Look at page 11 of the owners manual for a full description of the switch.
Sometimes this procedure will get an electronic device to turn back on. First check that your power cable is seated in the back - remove it and plug it back in if you can just to be sure. Then unplug the power cord from the wall. Press and hold the power button on the TV (don't use the remote) for 15 seconds. Plug it back in and try turning on the TV using the power button (not the remote).
If that doesn't work - try leaving the TV unplugged for an hour or so then plug it back in and try it again.
The main system control memory IC to this TV is damaged. Replace it. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
1.) Unplug the TV, and hold in the power
button while plugging it back in, this will reset the TV, and sometimes
it comes on.
2.) Just warm the back of the TV with a hair
dryer for 5-7 mins after you have unplugged the TV. Look for the little
areas of holes in the back panel of TV. Use these as your guide at
where to use hairdryer., but don't hold the dryer too close(say
5-6inches away). (Make sure the dryer is on High heat). If the TV
doesn't turn on after you have heated it up (like it tries to
come on but then turns off) you need to unplug the TV again, this
resets it. And repeat those steps till it works. Reseting the TV after
it fails to turn on is the key. Also, just leave the TV on. Don't turn
Just try to reset so picture will back to normal again, some LCD TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time. 1. Unplug the LCD TV power cord from the power outlet. 2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...) 3. Press and hold the LCD TV power button for five seconds. 4. Plug the LCD TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV. 5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the LCD TV is responding again. 6. Turn off the LCD TV and reconnect the devices. 7. Turn on the LCD TV.
I owned this set for 1.5 years with no problem until I used the VGA input port. I could watch movies from my laptop for about 3 days, then my TV wouldn't turn on? The red power light was on but the light never turned blue indicating the set is on.
I searched this set on line and found this problem was very common with this set. I believe it is a manufacture defect that they didn't have a recall for.
I am going to replace the LCD control board, that should take care of the problem. I saw a used one on ebay for $69. With this board having known problems, I didn't dare try a used one.
Problem fixed. I unplugged the TV for 20+ seconds, then before plugging it back in, I shorted ac plug prongs together with a metal key to ensure complete discharge. Plugged TV back in and used procedure to reset password WITH ONE CHANGE TO THE PROCEDURE.
With TV turned OFF press and hold <CLEAR> button on the remote while pressing <VOLUME DOWN> button on the TV, hold until TV turns on. When the menu appears DO NOT RESET THE PARENTAL CONTROL CODE as the user guide instructs. When my menu appeared it was in the SETUP screen on the LANGUAGE setting. It was set to SPANISH, using the remote I navigated to ENGLISH. Then using the remote I navigated up to GO BACK. Then I navigated to EXIT and hit <OK> button on the remote. All was back to normal.
