If you can adjust the printer's settings at either the printer's interface or on your computer - go into 'settings'. You'll want to look for something like initial setup or print quality - or possibly print report and this option may come up - but you should try and print an automatically generated alignment page - once printed, they're scanned and adjustments are made by the printer to produce the best images it's capable of. There are going to be other 'tools' such as clean ink cartridges, etc. - good to periodically perform all of those actions - but that 'alignment' page and scanning it should really help you out.
