How do I fix my CD/DVD burner? When I upgraded to Windows 10, I can no longer burn CD's or DVD's.

It also will not play any CD/DVD that I put in it but will play music and videos that were on my computer prior to upgrading to Windows 10. If I try to burn I get this message: Cannot continue with the burning process, because no burning device was detected. Install a burning device and restart burner name to burn a disc. I have changed nothing except upgrading to Windows 10. The devices worked before upgrading. Can you tell me why it will not work now and how to fix it? I'm a novice and my brother, the computer whiz, got married and moved away. Thanks, JD Morris.

Try a different make of disc, if same uninstal and re-install burning software. If you think the cd rom maybe has a driver problem, check this link to and try solution No.2 to try and solve. http://www.fixya.com/support/t126369-e_drive_wont_start_up_any_product

SOURCE: using windows dvd maker vista

two things. Firsly make sure that you are using the correct disks i.e if your drive is dvd-r then only use dvd-r disks, if its dvd+r then only use dvd+r disks if it is a multi drive then it won't matter what disks you use. Secondly don't format the disk first. If it asks you to format the disk click on the X to shut the pop up box. Only put the disk in when dvd maker asks for you to insert a disk.

SOURCE: dvd/cd rom drive cant read any disc

cd/dvd drives are cheep, I would suggest in device manager uninstall device driver and re-install them with scan for new hardware. If thats not working goto ebay and get a cd/rw dvd reader try to pay a max of $20.00 you should find many in that price range.. and when re-installing make sure the jumper is set to the same as the one you currently have..

When i put in a blank dvd-r Koyote free video to dvd burner will not acknowledge the disc. I have windows 64.

I find that people don't realize that they have a dvd-rom that only plays dvd and plays and burns cds but does not have the capability to burn dvds. You may have to go out and purchase a dvd burner and install it. I had to buy a dual layer dvd burner once that also burned regular dvd. Back in the day i remember when they sold dvd players the dvd burners used to cost more.

My dvd burner works ok, and my cd drive will play cd's but I can no longer burn cd's. I've not tried to burn a cd for quite some time, so I don't know when it stopped working. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp...

maybe your dvd burner got malfunction, go try to burn another one, if it doesnt burn a cd/dvd, then its time for you to buy a new one, or if there is an update for your dvd burner then download it and try to patch/update it, if not then buy another one.

Low burn speed

I had the same problem before upgrading my RAM. Seems video burning software like nero are RAM hogs; if you do not have a large amount of RAM then it slowers the burning speed down to a crawl.[ BTW I didn't get maximum burning speeds using nero on a Windows Vista computer until I upgraded to 2 GB RAM] Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer.

Blue ray player wont play blue ray ''Kung Fu Panda'' disc.

i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.

It may be how you are burning these discs, if you burn it as a data disc you will only be able to read them with a computer dvd drive, if burnt as video it should work on any dvd drive.

Philips dvd burn not burning?

1. see to it that you have set your burning software to write to the disk.
2. try to use it on a cd, if it finishes the job, something is wron with your dvd drive.
3. make sure that the drive you have is really a dvddrive and not a cd drive.
4. upgrade youe burning software.

Burned CD's won't play in auto CD player

I had the problem of burned CD's not playing in my car. I used a CD-R and burned it at "slow" burn rate. Now I don't have a problem with playing the cd's in my car player. Try it, it worked for me.

Heres the website. You can also try upgrading the firmware for your burner. It might help with other DVD software packages. http://legacyproducts.tdk.com/support/dvdburners/index.html

Your Burner is an all-in-one.(I think) It plays(and burns) cd's and dvd's. Whatever program you use to burn has not informed Windows of its true intentions yet...Which is to burn a dvd or a cd.
