Turns on when door is open; turns off when door is shut.

Its back feeding power due to a bad door switch and connections to the switch. You have to unplug it, then remove the front panel . Look at the door switches, they should all snap back up if they are pushed down. If one doesnt, it is bad. Also look for browned or burnt wire connection to the switch. Poor wires and connection are the number one cause of door switch failure. I upgrade the switches to a switch with 1/4 inch terminals, these dang microwave companies are using switches with little 3/16 terminals and they just do not hold up/

Likely when you cleaned it, grease mixed with the cleaner you used got between the button panel and the actual button switch behind the panel, making it stick on. Will need the model to determine how to remove the panel to clean underneath...OR, it may dry out and start working normally again.

It is one of two things, a defective door switch, or the keypad control board has failed.

Always have something in the microwave before turning on. A glass of water is OK. It's needed to absorbed the energy.
All microwaves will stop if the door is opened. This a safety feature. Never operate with the door opened.
The button below the plug outlet is a test button for the GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter). This is a safety feature of the electrical wiring for your home. Make sure it's turned on.
Since this is a new unit, you may want to take it back to the store you bought from for an exchange/refund.

The turntable is a seperate intenty from the microwave itself, I would presume that the switch that turns off the turntable when the door is opened needs replacement.

After self cleaning the range the door won't open....
The oven door lock needs approximately 1 hour to cool down before the oven door can be opened after a self cleaning cycle has finished. If the lock does not open after the oven has cooled down, you can try....1) Unplugging the range or shut off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Plug the range back in or turn on the circuit breaker. Set the clock and try moving the door lock lever or opening the door. 2) Set the self-clean cycle again and only allow it to work for 15 minutes. Cancel the self-clean cycle and allow the oven to cool. Gently try moving the door lock lever or opening the door.

Was it code E4? That can be an issue with the sensor circuit.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Otherwise, I would suspect door switch trouble.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
