How do you get to the memory in a samsung V20?

I was told that it was underneath the keyboard but I can't work out how to get the keyboard out.

I found it. There is a single screw on the bottom under the warranty label then two catches at the bottom of the keyboard about either side of the space bar. Press them both back and the keybard will lift out from the bottom upwards.

There is a single screw on the bottom under the warranty sticker. Remove that then find two little clips on the top between the keyboard and the the case around the space bar. Press these two in then lift the keyboard out from the bottom.

Samsung NP x120 will not boot, Error sounds one long beep followed by thre short ones

Hi pkb747,
I see that you might have an issue related to the memory modules of your portable system. One thing that you need to secure is the manual of your portable system. But usually it will be very easy to work with a portables memory module unless your memory module is seated underneath your keyboard. Normally the memory module is available underneath the portable system. What you need to do is open a panel underneath your portable system to gain access to your memory module.
First try to re-seat the memory module of your portable system. There will be two latches that will hold your memory module. Just push it apart to release the memory module. Erase the copper tips with a pencil eraser and sit it back on the portable system. Cross your fingers and start your computer. If it works then good. If it does not, try to remove the memory modules one at a time. Try to see what memory module is causing the problem so that you may be able to replace them.
Good luck. :)

The Samsung V20 Notebook doesn't have screen Output after Start. One button clip of the keyboard button --> is missing. Is there a dependance between keyboard function and screen?

no, but if it got knocked hard enough to mess up the keyboard there is a good chance that something has happened to either the gpu or the screen itself as well.

Hi, i have a samsung v20 laptop.2 questions...

I have a Samsung V20 for many years and I know it doesn't support a wireless connection built in. But if you connect a USB like myself you can have access to the internet wirelessly. The flikering on the screen are you sure you haven't got a screen saver switched on, you may have it set to a clear black screen and like you say have to tap the keyboard and it comes back to life. It may also have hibernation switched on which will automatically turn off the screen have so many minutes you can change all these setting by right clicking on the desktop and selecting properties and under the screen saver tab there will be a power btton you should see hibernation and other tabs across the top these can be altered to whatever you want.

Hope this of use.

The plug on the screen ribbon cable which connects to the motherboard has dry solder joints. Closing the screen and typing hard on the keyboard can break these joints very easily. All you need to do is re-solder the joints. This is a very delicate job and requires a lot of patience.

Installing Memory

Yes, you can replace/upgrate the memory module under the keyboard.

Before you proceed, note that Dell Inspiron 2650 uses DDR200 3.3V SODIMM modules. Also, memory module capacities supported are 128MB and 256MB with a Maximum memory of 512MB. If the current memory installed is 128MB, you need to order 2x 256MB modules to replace/upgrade both memory slots. If the installed capacity is 256MB, you just need another 256MB for the slot underneath the laptop.

Check "Removing the Keyboard" for guide removing the keyboard to access the 2nd memory slot.

Read "Preparing to Work Inside the Computer" before committing to the above procedure.

Let me know how you get on.
