Hello John;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

First, I would recommend Samsung or LG to someone I did not like. 60% of my service calls were for these units.

You have a solenoid valve for both your ice maker and one for your water dispenser in the lower back bottom corner of your unit.
So, you either have:
1.) A plugged water valve that is not providing 65 PSI water pressure to close the water dispenser valve.
2.) The spool in the solenoid valve is worn or dirty and is not closing fast enough.

Water supply valves will wear. and the rubber seating will block the water supply pressure.

It is only going to get worse over time.

Hi, I have a 2011 Ford Ikon. My electric windows keep getting jammed. How do I reset them or how do I fix that problem?

Lower the windows and spray Jigaloo into the window tracks and down the sides of the glass pane. If the window sticks, the anti-pinch mechanism stops the window. There is no reset on a window, it is just a motor and switches.

My clutch lever is increasingly difficult to operate and by the end of my ride my forearm and wrist are exhausted. What's going on? Do I need to lube the cable, replace the cable, or replace the lever? ...

Yeah, you gotta lube the cable sometimes. It's important, 'cause if the cable hangs up the clutch may not throw in fully.

PbBlaster will probably work well, Tri-flow brand oil is good for cables. WD-40 will help work out water if there is any in there, follow it with a lubricant such as I mention above.

Will not drain, pump runs, how to unstop it

Hi,

A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again. Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drain valve diverts the water.

Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing.

Thank you !!

Water dispenser sticks

You should spray the mechanism with some PAM or other similar cooking spray. This will act as a lubricant. Spray it into the hinge area and work the lever back and forth.

Whirlpool Side by Side Ref. water will not shut off in door

The lever is activated by a switch that opens the valve when you push it with a glass. The switch and/or the solenoid is the problem. as it was just taken out of storage, look at the switch behind the glass lever. You may be able to un-stick it by hand.
