CD changer will not open. One CD (properly inserted) is inside changer. Upon attempt to open to insert or remove CD's the CD tray shakes back and forth slightly and the display shows "check" followed by "error". How do I get the changer to open and function properly? System has worked perfectly until today.

No if the cleaning does not work, you will need to have the unit hooked up to test equipment to check if the laser is bad. It could also be a bad spindle motor if the unit will not spin. good Luck

i have the same exact problem with mine. what i did was manually pull open the cd deck, stop the disk carousel from spninning by holding it still, then push the deck closed. the cd deck will no longer work, but at least it stops spinning. the auxiliary works fine and so does the radio.

Do you have sound from the headphone outlet? If yes, then it could be a known problem on the model 5 where it will not switch on the sub.. I have a fix for this, just let me know.

The loading belt is broken, or the gears are jammed and locked down, either way a major dis-assembly will be required to attempt repair.
