Books you buy should be listed in your Amazon Kindle library. Check it using a laptop or desktop.
If they aren't listed there then something went wrong with your order.
If they are listed in your Kindle library, you need to turn on your Kindle and connect it to wi-fi or 3G. Your Kindle should then automatically download the new books. If it doesn't, touch Settings and select *Sync and check for new items*. Make sure the Kindle you want to download the books to is listed as your default Kindle if you have more than one so new books will automatically download to it once it's connected.
You can touch the book where it's listed on the Homescreen and hold the touch for a second or two. A menu will come up and there will be an option to *Remove book from device*.
If you are gifting your Kindle, any books on your Kindle Cloud will still be available unless your un-register the Kindle from your account. You can do this on the Amazon Kindle site on the internet by logging on using a laptop or desktop and selecting that option in *Settings*.
