Hopper auger will not stop - Pool & Spa

Adjust the door util it allows the pellets to flow and secure.

Have you checked to see that the auger is not blocked? Or the pellet hopper is not blocked ? if the auger is turning then it has to be that something is blocking the pellets from getting in to it.

None of those seemed to address the rattling you described. Our Sante Fe started doing that after sitting all summer. It operates fine, but when the auger is not feeding it makes a rattling noise that appears to come from the auger motor area. When the auger is feeding or you lift the fill lid it stops vibrating. Still trying to figure this out.

You did not post the model number. I assume it is a larger machine such as a MP9000. The SC495 is a clogged toner hose from the cup to the toner sub-hopper. If the toner system is not clogged it is a bad toner pump, or sometimes it is a bad toner sensor on the sub-hopper or the cup on top of the auger from the toner bank. If the hose is not clogged and there is toner to the top of the sub-hopper then it is one of the sensors. They are identical.

take the hopper out and press the button. if the spindle in the back doesn't move, the gear motor is siezed and needs to be removed, cleaned, lubed, and rebuilt. if the spindle moves, empty the hopper and reposition the auger so that it sits in the connector in the back, refill and test

The auger may be jammed. If you cant wiggle it then it probably is. If not then you have an issue with a sensor....ie an air leak, bad igniter, heat sensor.

The oil seal is the resistance you feel. take a soft mallet or hammer with a soft drift and gently but firmly tap the stub shaft and it will drive out the oil seal in the hopper direction.The lower skirt of the tapered bearing is what contacts the seal so go slow.

This is usually caused by a jammed auger that has something caught between auger and chute, which in most cases blows a fuse, if fuses are good and the auger is not jammed then the next thing to do is check the limit switch in the hopper to make sure it is teeling the auger to turn on as there is product in the hopper to use. to test if you have voltage on the motor to run it either use a multimeter or if you do not have one take an old lamp and cut the plug off the end of the wire and making sure there is a good bulb in it attach the 2 wires that you cut the plug from on the two connections to the auger motor and see if the lamp lights, if it does the motor is most likely bad if it does not then there is a break in one of the wires going to the motor or a limit switch ois not being made or a fuse is blown. First take the hopper out and let it de-ice completely making sure that it is dry before re-installing it. Make sure that the auger moves when re installed with no ice in it.

You need to replace the auger motor. Go to fasco .com they may have one. Or enco.com I have a pellet stove and i have replaced both the auger motor and the motor that turns the hopper.
