If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed AOC monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

no PC TOLD AT ALL, ? WHAt is the monitor connected to?
we can not guess PCs, or the OS it runs, can not.
had a 15" monitor that one thing smacks of RELIC PC's
some old monitors have auto screen sizer built it
or needs to be activate in the OSD menus.

in vga mode only at the monitor OSD has 4 arrows, logo there.
in the PC set the resolution at the PC to what your monitor allows. Set the PC to max reso any monitor allows. is the rule. or try them all until happy.

AOC monitor too bright!!!

Sounds like its T'Con board fault. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

Line faults & possible causes to LCD is given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent. Faults to all LCD & Plasma screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Try monitor on different computer to isolate the anomaly. If it works fine you have an issue with your current computer. If it doesn't then the issue is with the monitor.
U might also want to check if the adapter is ok

before you start your game, you can try to modify your screen resolution and then start the game it will fit to the new screen size.

depending on your OS (winodws)

WIN XP close all windows and place your mouse over your desktop right click and select properties. a windows will pop out with the following tabs THEMES, DESKTOP, SCREEN SAVER SETTINGS.
click on settings and you will see a computer screen(s) and it will be a place to change the SCREEN RESOLUTION (800x600) (1024x768) etc try a diffrent one from the one you are using and click apply and then OK. run the game, if it persist just try a different size.

WIN VISTA click on desktop area and sellect PERSONALIZATION, click on Display settings and change the RESOLUTION.aplly and ok.

Hi there - I read in another forum to use the left button instead of menu. Give it a try - power off and hold left button while powering on.
