Google and MS can trace a stolen Tablet or phone. This seems a little useless if the thief can merely reset the device thereby deleting all acc. How can one password protect this reset sequence.

You are correct that such methods are useless if thieves can merely reset them. Just remember though, that most thieves aren't too bright to start with. Thus, they tend to steal an item and then quickly sell or pawn it for cash. This is what allows tracking to work. If the manufacturers wanted real security, they would embed the security in the hardware, not in the applications. But since most tablets these days are cheap, there is no incentive for them to do so. It would only raise the cost and remove the consumer's incentive to but their product, since no one expects to have their phone or tablet stolen. But you cannot protect the reset sequence since it IS built into the device. The only saving grace here is that the reset clears out virtually all personal information, thus protecting you somewhat if it is stolen. Unfortunately, it may not clear all the personal info on an internal SD card. So be very careful what you leave on the tablet it you leave it lying around.

How DO I do a Hard reset on a NueTab N7 tablet

Looks like you are trying to do a factory reset because why? Password protected and you don't know the password?
IF you are the true owner the manual will tell you how to do a factory reset.
I DO NOT ANSWER these types of questions because of the huge problem of phones, tablets. etc. are stolen..
If yours is not in that catagory take it to a "Geek" shop and have them do the reset; you do something wrong in the bootloader menu you can and will wipe everything out and brick the tablet.

Note: If you see "Downloading" on the screen with an Android shoveling you pressed the wrong Volume key. Remove and reinsert the battery and try again.

Versus touchpad factory reset

A factory reset will erase everything.
If you want to operate without a password, expect all data and software to be stolen or tampered with. Good luck.
