We have a powerware 9120 UPS and need to implement a power gernerator solution in the event that the UPS dies befoew power is restored. Is there a recommended approach for integrating a Generator to the UPS unit ?
Power ware has a powerpass bypass switch for $200.00.
There is two inputs on this bypass switch. One for power, and one for the generator.
One ouput for your UPS. There you have it... There is your soluiton. I might add one other thing called a Power Guard, PMM117, to monitor the power of the backup generator. The time delay of this device will prevent over current from cooking your UPS power supply.
They also have a Hardwired version that is more expensive for you 5, 6 ,10KVA UPS. So a automatic bypass switch is what you need.

Hi,
After you replaced the batteries did you perform a manual battery test?
If not do so.

9120 fans are rare and uncommon, for alternate solution just replaced the bearing of the fan.
SOURCE: my ups has is faulty i need a circuit diagram to fix it
I had a DC bus fault error displayed.
So I unplugged battery, then turned on UPS. It said Batt disconnected of course.
So when I plugged in the batt while the UPS was on, and held the power button for a few sec, the UPS displayed Batt testing.
After a few moments it was back online and had no faults!
Worth a shot.
