according to this site it was made in 1954, I'm thinking that the the enter column # is the beginning sn for that year.

then scroll down to 54 you will see the sn beginning in the 200's & in 55 the beginning sn in the 207's. Serial Number Data

Possibly upto 7 years old but call Fischer & Paykel with the serial number and they should be able to give you the day month and year of production, the only number i can find for customer services is : 08000 886 605
I replace my hard drives after 2 or 3 years. Yours seems to have quit early, possibly the transformer is not working. If your external drive lights up, the electronics could be bad. At any rate, the bad news is it sounds like time for a new drive. I hope you have a backup of the contents.
I think you have the model number. The first digit of the serial number is the year. If that is indeed the sn then it was made in 89 or 99.
sn 04 1800265 (04 - year) (18 - week) (00265 - 265th saw that week) pretty clever these Swedes.
