My old compaq Presario V2000 that I pulled out after several years in storage says it has an excellent connection with my U-Verse router, but I can't get any webpage access.

Could you please let me know the operating system installed on your Notebook.

Try booting into the BIOS Screen and resetting to factory defaults. If that fails suggest swapping the hard drive out and re-install the Operating System - Save your old data and migrate the data off the old drive. You can buy an external drive adapter to connect the harddrive to a USB port to migrate you data.

if the computer will turn on with it plugged into ac power than it is most likely the battery. batteries on these machines are cheap. Mine died after a year

your router could be old and my not be consistent enough to stay connected.

To install device you need to install device driver within cd support included of the pack, or goto www.hp.com then click the support for download driver for your device.

Try to remove the preferred networks on your Presario then try connecting again. If you have wireless security enabled on your router, you have to enter that. Make sure that the settings on your router is the same as your wireless adapter so that they can synchronize.
