Chain won`t tension

what kind of saw? first you loosen the nuts that hold the chain bar in place. Lift up on the bar as you turn the screw at the base of the bar on the engine. Do not make it tight-tight. The chain should be tight against the bar at the point of being being just a bit loose and tight. In other words don't make it so tight that when you grab the chain and pull it away from the bar it snaps back like a rubber band it should slightly pull itself toward the bar when you pull it away from the bar and let go of it. This it done at the center of the bar area. Once you have the right tension tighten the chair cover up again and recheck the tension afterwards. If you get to tight it will cause too much friction and burn up your tip, too loose and it will keep coming off the bar. The tip of the bar needs to be lubricated with a needle grease gun or similar. There is a small hole in the tip of the bar for grease gun. grease it often. While you have your grease gun out grease the needle bearings where you clutch is. To get to it pull the chain cover off and the round device the chain is driven by has bearing. In the center of the shaft coming out of the engine, the same shaft the clutch fits on, there is a small hole, put the grease gun in the hole and grease it.

How do i Tighten chain

Jo:
Unplug the saw.
Lay the saw on it's side so the chain and bar are up (lay it on 4X4 blocks or something similar so the motor housing doesn't make the saw rock back and forth) Loosen the two 1/2 or 9/16 nuts... don't take them off, just loosen them a turn or two. Look toward the saw where the bar comes out (the front of the housing where the blade comes out). You will see a small screw head. Turn the screw clockwise (as if you were tightening it) As you turn that screw, the chain will tighten. Put on some gloves and pull the chain around the bar (as if the saw was running, but you are the motor). The chain should move with a little resistance. Pinch the chain at the top-middle of the bar and pull the chain up away from the bar. the chain should pull away from the bar no more than 1/16 to 1/8 inch. If you look carefully between the bar and the chain, you'll see the dogs that run in the groove in the outside circumference of the bar. None of the dogs should be fully exposed when you pull up on the chain (in other words, None of the dogs should come completely out of the bar's chain groove when you pull up on the chain. Now, tighten the two nuts on the back of the bar. Snug them down good... if the bar slips on those two nuts, the chain will come off while you are cutting.

Good luck

I have hit the drum in all directions but it still won't come off.

on the back of the drum there is a dust plate, with an inspection hole. remove the ruber insert from the inspection hole. inside there is an automatic brake adjuster. you will need two small screw drivers, or something similar. the adjuster has a star wheel on it, with a thin lock bar that is atached to a small spring. with one screw driver push the lock away from the star wheel. with the other turn the star wheel in the direction of the lock bar. the wheel will turn in small increments, so this is kind of a slow process. by turning the adjuster you have pulled the shoes away from the dum. this will alow the drum to come off freely with little efort. !! in order to ensure proper braking once the new shoes are installed this procces must be reversed.!!

How do i put a chain on the chainsaw

Set out the chainsaw parts in front of you. Make sure the chain is facing the right way to cut wood; the teeth should be facing away from you when you are holding the chainsaw.

Secure the chain around the sprocket (a cog-type part found near the chain tension nipple) and align it along the grooves of the bar. You will see a hole for the chain-tension nipple on the end of the bar. Line these up so the nipple fits in the hole on the bar. Pull the chain to tighten it, using the screw to achieve the desired tension

Place the cover plate back on top of the bar and line up the cover-plate housing screws with their corresponding screw holes

Screw the cover-plate housing screws back in and tighten. Test the chain to make sure it spins freely when pulled.

Check the chain to make sure you can lift it about 1/4 inch, so it isn't too tight to spin while cutting wood

I have a philips Matchline tv (29pt6361/79r) the tv works fine except it automatically turns the volume down without any buttons on the remote or tv being pushed

well depends on how far it turns the volume down as to what the cause is and if the volume bar on screen display comes on when the vol. goes down. if it just goes down a little you probably have the "smart sound" setting turned on in the audio menu turn it off and see if prob. goes away. if the vol. bar comes on the screen whenever the vol. goes down the you most likely have a bad button on your front panel and it doesn't have to be the vol. down button. it you think it is the button it would need solder work to be changed most likely shop job.
