How to fix movies

Your passport is just an external hard disk. Perhaps it even contains movies, but without a PC or a media centre, capable of playing the movie formats you have on the hard disk you won't see any movie.
Sometimes you just need an extra device.
if you have a lot of MP4 media, ending on '.mov', '.m4v' of '.mp4', you can play them with the Apple TV. But I'm sure there are more devices capable of playing video formats.

There are scratch removal kits the polish out scratches on CDs and DVDs.
Google the Internet for these kits and you will get various suppliers.

Check the manual and/or support forum for your DVD player. Many devices like this will not recognize a large (1TB) drive.

it depends on the condition of your dvds and how old your player is.
try using a DVD disc cleaner. This cleaner looks just like a disc with some extra little brushes on its surface. Some DVD cleaner kits even come with supplies to clean and modify scratches on your discs. if this dont work you may want to get a new player..

If the rented DVD is too scratched it will cause the DVD player to pause while it tries and find the next available playable area on the disc. This may cause the player to skip to another part of the movie. Try wiping the disc with a damp cloth from the centre towards the outer rim and dry the same way. Fingerprints ect. also cause problems. If the scratches are circular the player will have a hard time trying to play the disc. If the scratches are straight and small it shouldn't cause too much problems.

most likely your xbox isnt working properly. I'd try to send it back to microsoft for repairs/replacements. sorry
