Essick D46720 wicks dry not picking up water

Spray them or dunk them in the bath with a dilute mixture of dish soap and water. It will help as a wetting agent. You can also use dishwasher rinse aid.

Or you can buy a new wick set for $42. They should be replaced every couple of years.

What does F mean on aircare humidifier? what does CF mean?

Which model do you have? On the H12 and 696 series models, F indicates refill the humidifier; the reservoir bottle is out of water. The CF means check the filter/wick. Replace the wick if appropriate. The CF message will appear every 720 hours of run time for the humidifier. It will be reset when the unit is unplugged or loses power.

You can find the Owner's manual for many of the Aircare humidifiers on the product page. Start at https://aircareproducts.com/ Then look for your humidifier. The link to the owner's manual is just below the Add to Cart button on the right side of the page. Use the manual to identify the correct filter or wick for your humidifier.

I hope this helps.

Replace filters light stays on even after changing wicks. How do I turn it off?

You didn't specify what brand/model of humidifier your using, but you can still try a couple of things. (Try the most logical first).
Try turning the control knob to the "test/reset" position & wait until the humidifier "on" light blinks; indicating it is resetting the timer & the change filter lamp will turn off.
I believe that you will need to do this while the furnace is calling for heat, if it isn't, turn up the thermostat and try it.

Elektra humidifier has a flashing water warning sign

Is this a mist generator with an ultrasonic element, popular for "health?"
These have a wick and water is not going trough the dry wick by itself. One should make all of the wick wet, from bottom to top. After that the water keeps being taken up to the element until the device is stored and the wick dries out again. Another thought is that these ultrasonic elements are very similar to a buzzer, like in toys. Two round sheets of metal with plastic in between. This is not like having long lifetime. For expensive mist makers you could perhaps order a new element but I do not have high hopes. Being so vulnerable the humidifiers are shipped containing no water. It is important to rest the top of the wick in water also. Just making the wick wet close to the element does not help or gives bad results.

How do I change the filter, (Holmes hm7204 Humidifier) Where does it go?

REPLACING THE FILTERS
Through normal use, waterborne minerals and sediment
become trapped in the wick filters. The harder your
water, the greater the amount of minerals in the water,
and the more often you will be able to monitor the life of
your filters in your humidifier.
You will be able to monitor the life of the filters in your
humidifier by checking the FilterCheck® Indicator. After
60 minutes of use, FilterCheck® Indicator will move and
indicate your filters condition. New filters will register in
the section reading Good filter. After frequent use of your
humidifier, the FilterCheck® Indicator will let you know
when the filters need to be changed, see Figure 2.
When the needle is in the CHANGE section, this means the
proper amount of moisture is not getting into your air due
to the excessive minerals and sediment that have become
trapped on your filters. At this point, you should replace your
filters. It is important to change your filters as
indicated to obtain stated performance level.
To replace the filter, follow the steps below:
1. Turn the unit off and disconnect from the electrical
outlet.
2. Remove the tank and main housing to access the base.
3. Remove the wick holder from the base of the humidifier.
4. Remove each individual wick and discard. Do not
remove rivet, replacement wicks come equipped with
rivets for easy replacement.
5. Follow the weekly cleaning instructions.
6. Insert new filters into each section of the wick holder
making sure the rivet attaches to the wick holder
securely.
7. Do not use wicks without rivets as this will not
produce the units intended output.
8. Replace the wick holder into the base and replace
main housing and then tank.
9. Repeat Operating Instructions.
It will take about 30 minutes for the humidifier to reach
maximum output.
Cheers!

Motor runs but water is not going down , no mist coming out, just air

i had the same problem but i think the water tension is too high and the wick does not **** it up..just like wearing a new t-shirt and you notice that water beads up on the cloth. After wearing it and washing it,the soap in the detergent will have removed/dissolved the water tension and allowing it to clean the shirt. This removal will allow the shirt to absorb moisture easier.Same as the wick for the humidifier.Try to leave the wick in the device for an hour or so.You may add a tiny pinch of salt but not too much.Or better ,leave the wick in the bathroom when you shower as the air borne water particles will settle into the wick and trigger off the absorption effect.I hope it works for you.

Cool Mist Humidifier Filter Drying Out

How long are you going between filter changes?

A filter that stops wicking water up and turns orange/yellow is one full of deposits.

It sounds like you have hard water. How are you filtering this water before you use it? Distilled water is the best.

Replace the filter. They don't last forever. Mine normally last a month to a month and a half.

Good Luck

Moisture not coming out

i realize this answer is a year old; but, i would guess you didn't let the wick become saturated before running. fill the resevoir with water, then let the humidifier sit idle while the wick is saturating. when it is completely saturated, the refill light will go off. refill the resevoir with additional water, as needed. then you can run the humidifier.
