Same problem, Used Radio Shack remote 15-100. Program remote. (search through codes to shut off tv). Then live tv button brings up p-i-p, then zero, zero activates video mode, and then swap on remote.

is there a TV/Video or menu button on the front of the tv? if so try the tv/video button, that should scroll through the the components you have on your tv. dvd, game cable etc. If no tv/video, hit the menu button and then use either channel up/down or volume up/down to scroll through your component options.

I am experiencing the same problem... their help desk said there was no way to access game mode without the remote - but they did say a universal remote would work as well.. that I didnt necessarily hve to purchase a new Sylvania remote for it. I havent yet tried a universal remote yet, I need to find the programming codes - it s always something! :)

Try a hard reset. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.   1. Turn on the component that you want to set up.
  2. Press and release the component key you would like to configure. The red LED will blink once.
  3. Press and hold the "Setup" key until the red LED blinks twice, then release.
  4. Enter the first 4-digit code number for the device you are trying to program. The LED will blink one on each digit entered, except for the last digit where it will blink twice to confirm that a valid code has been programmed.
  5. Now test the code by pressing the "Power" key. If the component turns off, you've got the right code. Follow the same instructions to set up your other components. If the component doesn't turn off, return to step 3 and use the next 4-digit code listed.

As this remote was meant for a specific TV it will not work with your Vizo TV. Sorry for the bad news. Universal remotes can be cheap though and an easy fix.

Find the model number on the back of the VIZIO remote control.

Go to the link below and enter the model number in the SEARCH BY MODEL NUMBER space provided or look for it in the scroll down SELECT YOUR PRODUCT menu.

You should see a picture of your product and underneath it a small grey tab marked SUPPORT about halfway down the page.

From there you should be able to safely download a copy of the USER'S MANUAL which will contain the codes for your TV. Just click on the user manual link highlighted in red.

While you are there you can also download a copy of your TV's user manual if you don't still have it. The tv's model number will be on a sticker on the back of the set.

How do you put the tv in game mode without a remote
Hi,

Follow the steps below to switch your TV to game mode without using the remote:

1. Connect the game system to the TV using the AUDIO/VIDEO inputs on the FRONT of the TV.
2. Switch the game system on.
3. Press the "MENU" button on the front of the TV
4. Use the "CH" UP/DOWN buttons on the TV to highlight the "PICTURE" option. This is the first option so should already be highlighted.
5. Press the "VOL UP" button to select this option
6. Use the "CH" UP/DOWN buttons on the TV to highlight the "GAME MODE" option. This is the first option so should already be highlighted.
7. Press the "VOL UP" button to change the GAME MODE setting to "ON"

The TV should automatically switch to GAME MODE if you are using the inputs on the front of the TV.

8. Press "MENU" to exit and play your games.

I need more info about the remote! like Brand and model !
even without code! You should be able to put the remote into a search mode.
Here is some common procedure;
Put the Remote in search mode, while directing it to the turned on TV, push the power button repeatedly when the TV shuts down you should push the OK button immediately!

Deep sleep mode on digital tv
We turn off the TV. Turned it back on using the tv turner remote that comes with the set, we push the HDMI1 mode button immediately! Must do before it goes to Deep Sleep mode. You should not use RGB mode as this will cause the problem to repeat. (Vizo HD 50") Keep trying if doesn't work the first time. You have to be ready and quick to get the mode HDMI1.

sounds like the DVD button on the remote is stuck. try taking the batteries off your remote, press the DVD buttons a few times and put the batteries back. If it doesn't help i suggest try the tv without the remote, see if it makes a difference
