The power supply is dead,Theres a leak capacitor,you can identify those capacitor if leak of deffect when the top is round shape and usaully the normal capacitor is flated at the top.Try to replace capacitor at the power supply.
Above model is LCD not plasma, if crack is in screen then replacment is worth more than LCD. Given prices on Sony spare parts, you may be better covering as accidental damage on insurance if you are covered.
I have the same issue. TV is ~ 2 yrs old. Ruled-out cable-box & HDMI cables (green present in menu mode with no cables attached).
Screen turns mostly green, with a crappy picture. After a few days, a normal picture just appeared. Today I powered-on, the green screen stuff came up, then a minute later a good picture for about 20 minutes, back to green-stuff for 10 seconds, then good picture.
Hello, if the model number is correct it's not a projection tv, but an LCD tv. If that's correct, it sounds like a bad main board issue part # is AGF31218501...thanks
