U150 error on canon mx885

Solution 1:
  • Open the paper output tray.
  • Turn on the printer and open the scanning unit. The printer cartridge carriage will move to the center. Open the inner cover securing the cartridge in place by pulling it downward.
  • Press the tab on the problematic ink cartridge and lift it to remove it from the printer. You will be able to tell which ink cartridge is causing the problem because its indicator light will be off or flashing.
  • Open the replacement ink cartridge and pull the orange tape in the direction of the arrow to remove the protective film. Tear the orange tape off along the dotted line.
  • Place the ink cartridges into the printer and press where indicated on the cartridge until it clicks into place. Ensure that all ink cartridges have a red indicator light showing that they are properly installed.
  • Close the inner cover on the cartridge carriage and the scanning unit. The printer will automatically start a print head cleaning cycle. When the cleaning cycle is complete, the printer is ready to use.
Solution 2:
  • Put the little green circuit board from the old ink cartridge of the same color in the new cartridge.

Why will my ink cartridge not move to the center so i can tak e it out.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:


1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

To solve your problem follow the instruction step by step. Start with printer powered off
1. Open cover of printer and verify that the ink cartridge carriage is not in the center of the printer. Leave cover open.

Epson c20ux -ink cartridges installation

Power on

Open door or front top of cover that covers cartridges.

Systen should move ink carrage to center so you can take out old and put in new.

Close door/cover and should get some data on Monitor to follow so system recognizes new cartridges.

If no work u have some type of a problem in printer.

I'm assuming you don't have a paper jam or anything. If you do must clear.
