Worked great the past 2 years. Now, garage door will only go up 1 foot then stops. I hit the remote and it goes back down. I hit the remote again, and it only goes up 1 foot and stops. Any suggestions?

To stop the door in a partially open position, the button on the wall switch or remote should be pulsed when the door is opening from the fully closed position.
I bought a new keypad and 2 VISOR remote (30498). As to programming garage door opener, I did like here: programming garage door opener
- it tooks me 20 minutes and works great
check the settings on the unit itself sometimes if you have it set up to come down too rapidly it will cause it stop and go back up because it thinks its hit something.
Check the door springs and also remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. The door spring could be broken or the drive gear may be stripped.
If the main light is flashing 10 times when the door reverses it is a door sensor problem. One may have been bumped so that they no longer point at one another. Make sure the small light on each sensor is lit and not flickering. If this isn't the case you might need to increase the down force a little. The control is on the back panel near where all those white wires go. Increase it about 1/4 turn and try.
& to 10n years on a door opener is good. Did you set the pressure up high there are two dials on the back and they are numbered 1 2 3 to 10 set them to 8 or 9 and see if this solves your problem. What is happening is the sensors are tell your door its hitting something dose the light blink after it stops I need to know more. I would just buy a new one don't get this one fixed not worth it.
get a referral to a garage door guy! First off, make sure you have not activated "Lock" on console. If not, recode remote by hitting LEARN button on motor for 1 second and pusjing a button on remote. Light bulb on motor should blink 2x. Repeat for each remote you are having problem with. Should do it.
why does it go up or down a foot then stops, we have push remote or button at least 6 times before we can finally get it to go up. It is a craftsman 1/2 also
