You can access the circuit board by first removing one small phillipshead screw from inside the battery compartment. Next, pry the case apart at the parting line toward the front of the remote. On either side of the IR LED's you'll be able to push a very small flat tip in there and get the case to start coming off.

Once you have the case off, you cannot miss the capacitor. Its either blue or black with words like 4.7uF (microfarad) 50V 85degrees with a stripe on the right side.

Use a 30 watt soldering tool ($7 at an electornics store) to heat the solder mount and a pair of pliers to tug gently at the wire as you remove them from the liquid solder. Install the new capacitor into that same solder paying special attention to the matching stripe marking on the capacitor and PCB. Make sure you do not overheat the new capacitor as you install it.

To get proper cold air set temp 23 degree and mode"cool". To get heat set temp 30 degree and mode in "Heat"

I am pretty sure you would only need to buy the remote board, but before you do, you could try to resolder all the joints on this board. It is a small board with a couple of LED and remote sensor. Then make sure it is plugged in well, and give it a try.

Hi deabreu5. I have a spare remote for the fujita split system model: KFR I also have the instruction booklet but no manual.
Mine lasted for 3 years and no cold air comes out anymore. I'm going to have a crack at fixing it myself somehow. But a spare remote came in the box so I'll sell it to you if you like.
